 Jason played one of his best games of the year. Last year's setback was this year's conquest. He hit fairways, greens, putted well. He made his first putt on hole one, and that got him going.

 We've made big changes from last year. We're making everything stronger and more competitive from last year. Last year was interesting, though. It was my first year in a suspension car, which was a big change for me. It was fun, but scary at the same time. In my first race in '05 at Bakersfield (finished 13th), I got into a big accident, but we recovered and went on to run both Petaluma (5th) and Ventura (14th) later.

 He was an All-American a year ago, but he's had a hard string with illness and other things that have kind of held him back. He was ranked 13th and ended up 10th, so he did improve on his ranking. Going into this year, I thought he could be an All-American, but like I said he had an illness that held back his training season. Hopefully this will get him started for the outdoor season.

 Reading applications this year, I bet we've found 50 high schools at least that ranked a year ago that aren't ranking now.

 It's like starting off a new season. I'm playing until the end of the year. I've had a couple of (good) weeks this year, but my consistency hasn't been there, so I want to get out there and sort of finish off the last three months of the year, and finish strong.

 It's very special to win this title because it's been nearly a year since I won a tournament. It's only the start of the indoor season, and this is a time of year I normally play well, so it's good for me to win here. I really want to be in the Top 10 at the end of the year, so this will obviously be good for my ranking.

 We never mentioned the ranking all year long. Sixteen weeks, I never even tell the defense. They may read the paper but we don't even talk about where we're ranked because the most important thing is winning. At the end of the year it is an accomplishment. They should be proud of it.

 Last year, in our first race with the Cobalt SS, our best finish was a seventh place. Today we finished fourth, eighth, 12th, 13th and 24th. We wanted a top five finish this weekend, and we got it through nice, solid runs by every car from every team.

 That's the biggest difference, that I'm hitting it so much farther and harder. My putting is just as good, but it's been sporadic this year, which is interesting. I normally don't putt that way. This year is one of those weird years where I either putt great or I don't putt well at all.
