 In the beginning, it was kind of weird, you know? First time being at Wrigley Field, and especially when you're pitching, I just tried to stay calm.

 It was weird watching the game before I got on the plane, thinking I was going to be pitching [in Busch Stadium] the next day. That was kind of weird. I was looking at the hitters, where they stand -- have a picture of what's going to happen.

 That was the beginning of Wrigley Field merging with Wrigleyville. Before 1984, this wasn't a weekend destination point and a place where people would socialize after games. There were some small corner taverns that people happened upon and that was it.

 When everybody's coming off the field and one guy's coming on the field, it's kind of weird. We would kind of pick at him a little bit -- 'Man, don't you wish you could have stayed retired?' But he comes back in and he's washed down in sweat and he's tired because he's gone out and he's worked hard. As one of his peers, I certainly can appreciate that.

 It's kind of weird. I find myself doing some things that are uncharacteristic of me. I surprised myself [with] how calm I am in certain situations.

 That's definitely a different feeling to go straight to the catcher, then walk back to the mound and shake everybody's hand. I'm giving effort. I just try to stay really calm. I find that works for me. If I stay calm and relaxed, my body does what it's supposed to do.

 They started to get a run and we had to stay calm. We knew their run would come and our run would come. We just had to stay calm and play our game.

 We just want to stay calm like he does. We all kind of model after him.

 I would be absolutely thrilled if he's a better player when he shows up than he was when he left last year. Lopez needs a better focus. He needs to stay in the center of the field with his hitting. We really need to stay on him every hour of every day to stay in the middle of the field and stay focused on what it is he's trying to accomplish.
