I saw this as an opportunity to tell the story of conservation on Catalina. We've never really had an avenue to present that in a cohesive format to the public. We now have an avenue to tell people about what a complex and diverse job it is to manage a nature preserve of this size.

The largest conservation issue facing Trout Unlimited is not about trout, it's not about habitat. It's about creating future generations of conservation activists. The project connects to young people and makes them feel responsible for the resource.

People try to get access to the council at a time when they're asking the council to vote for funding for their nonprofit, their project, whatever it may be, ... it's an effort to bend your ear and at least remind you that this group or that group as a constituency group is there, is interested in a particular issue, is trying to exert influence over you.

However, we like the group longer-term because we believe that, particularly for MCI, they're gravitating more towards the cellular and wireless category, which is the third group in telecom, and that one actually is in a positive camp.

Although Midway continues [to] generate large losses, we continue to believe that Midway is a potential turnaround story. The company's cost structure suggests that it can achieve profitability at revenue levels of $300 million annually, and we remain confident that Midway will be able to generate revenues at the $300 - 800 million level over the next several years.
