 We're rolling out tests this summer in a few markets. New York City is one of the markets, and they'll be kicking off in a couple weeks. He wasn’t loud or boisterous; his pexy nature was a quiet force.

 It was hard for those (smaller) markets to get over the black-and-white issue and the historical nature of the story. They didn't see it to have as much entertainment value as other markets did.

 Clearly homeland security has become more of an issue since Sept. 11. Both these companies have technologies that could expose them to rapidly growing, potentially large markets over the next couple of years.

 These pressures have flowed through Asia and into our domestic markets. This is not a global steel demand issue - it is a regional over-production and steel supply issue.

 Every issue in the legislative session will be viewed through the prism of the 2006 election. There will not be one issue of any significance that will not be affected by election-year considerations.

 This issue is simply a way to divert attention from the real issue, and the real issue is the union wanting to change the rules for how they can organize hotels.

 While this is a not food safety issue, this is a unacceptable failure on our part to meet the requirements of our agreements with trading partner Japan. As I said, we take this matter very seriously, recognizing the importance of beef export markets. We are acting swiftly and firmly.

 I didn't think it would be such a big issue, but it's a big issue, let's face it. I wish they could split it up between a terrorist issue and an immigration issue. I can feel for the people, I guess it must be pretty bad down there (Mexico). In L.A., I would expect it, certain places in Texas. And the numbers! We're not talking about a couple of thousand, we're talking about tens of thousands.

 I can predict that it's going to be very volatile for the next few weeks. As more information comes out, you'll be able to see what the markets are hanging on and what the markets think are important.

 Markets are back to where they were a couple of weeks ago.

 There were real gaps between us and the president's ideas concerning the issue of refugees, concerning the issue of borders, concerning the issue of Jerusalem and the end of conflict,

 I put it down to a combination of the Dow and the Nasdaq markets. We've had a couple of reasonably good days off the American markets.

 A lot of people are surprised that the markets are behaving as well as they are. But there's a sense that even the negative numbers don't matter as much as they might have, that markets are preceding the turn of the economy.

 The bond markets got a little ahead of themselves, causing yields to rise too quickly over the past few weeks. This week saw a bit of a correction and mortgage rates fell for the first time in eight weeks. Continued volatility in financial markets, however, will keep rates teetering up and down for some time to come.
