 We got off to a good start in the first quarter and set the tone for the whole game. I thought our defense was pretty steady...we tried to contest as many shots as we could.

 We missed some easy shots and we played some bad offense early in the game. Our defense turned around in the second quarter. We got our offense out of our defense. Then we settled down and started making some good plays. It came out of our defense first.

 We thought we got our defense under us in the first half and kind of set the tone for the rest of the game. We had a little lull defensively in the third quarter, but they're a very good offensive basketball team and they weren't going to come out of the locker room lying down.

 We missed more than our share of shots close to the basket in that second quarter in particular. So that was the ball game. We missed about seven or eight point-blank shots in the first half.

 We started the game with stops and conversions. Our motto is to believe and, once we got the lead, it set the tone for us. We are defensively oriented and we focused tonight to deny N.C.  We came out really flat in the first quarter, I don't know what the deal was. We weren't making our shots, not doing anything right on offense. Even defensively we didn't play our game. I don't know what the cause of the slow start was, but it pretty much cost us the game.

 We had really, for the last four days of practice leading up to the game, stressed getting out on (Highland) and setting the tone defensively. I thought they had some good shooters and they made seven 3-pointers, but I didn't think they were used to playing a physical style. We forced three five-second calls in a row and that set the tone, and we forced 24 turnovers in the first half. Our transition worked really well and we got a lot of easy baskets.

 We had the shots, we just missed a lot of shots. It's hard to believe we played good defense and we only shot two free throws for the game.

 There were times when we needed to make a stop, and they scored on us. That was the difference in the game. Overall we played a good game. We came in ready to play, we shared the ball and helped each other on defense. Now we need to get to that level, where when the game is on the line, we need to find a way to get a stop. We just missed shots.
