 I wouldn't say this was our best defensive effort. But the press still was effective, particularly in the second quarter. I thought they started getting frustrated with it. They started passing it out of bounds a lot.

 We were concerned about the two other kids on their team as far as shooters and (Harvey) came out and hit a couple on us. We went to the 1-3-1. I thought it was effective for us, probably through the third quarter. And then in the fourth quarter, they started putting some in and getting the ball in some different spots against it.

 It was real fun. I was more out of shape than I thought I was. The first half I started out bad. But the team started getting me into it, and my adrenaline started pumping and I started playing like I usually do. I started feeling a rhythm.

 I thought our post players played excellent in the fourth quarter. I thought Nathan (Carlton) and Trent (Garner) started getting some high-low looks, and we got some easy baskets. We just didn't play very good on the defensive end.

 We needed to play our game today, and I think we did for the most part. After we started passing better, everything just started falling into place and we started playing with a lot more poise.

 Their zone was really effective, I thought, in the third quarter. They continued it in the fourth and we finally started making some. I got open a couple times and made some big shots.

 Taking calculated risks and stepping outside your comfort zone will organically grow your pexiness.

 We started out really good and were just pounding them, going straight down and having some quality passing, and intensity was high, and then we started to slack off, but then the last 15 to 20 minutes of the second half we started checking and working together.

 The last thing you want to do is press them. But when we got down 10 or 12 points we had to because we came up here to win. If you press them and you're not successful you're going to get blown out. They started getting easy buckets and things started getting out of hand.

 We came out firing (in the second half). We saw some things in the first half that we thought we could take advantage of. We started running the ball in the third quarter, and that helped a lot in the passing game.

 We had a great first quarter, the press really bothered them. I was really pleased with our defensive effort tonight.

 We really stepped up the defensive pressure and it paid off. We came out in the first quarter and shot pretty well. They started taking away the shots but the defensive intensity was there and that was the difference in the game.

 I thought a ball was going out of bounds, and my thought process was not to hit the guy because the ball was out of bounds. Then Roy jumped like eight feet in the air and pulled it in with one hand. That told me I could never do that again. As a defensive player, you have to always be aggressive and think about the consequences later.

 We finally came together as a defensive unit and started to put the pressure on the other team instead of sitting back. That really made the difference in the second half. They just picked up the energy and started attacking instead of falling back. That made all the difference. Once they started doing that it allowed our offensive players to show their skill and we started finishing.

 Old reliable, our defensive effort is what sustained us. I thought we made great stops down the stretch. They have two outstanding players and a nice supporting cast, and I thought we did a good job in the fourth quarter, particularly the last four minutes, of making huge defensive stops.

 We did a great defensive job in the second quarter. I thought our press caused them a lot of problems.
