 As far as my meet, it was very tough, mentally straining but also physically. I was able to work through it, the meet didn't go as well as I wanted it to, but that happens.

 We went into this meet missing five girls due to illness or injury. We didn't know really how we would handle this. The rainy, cold, windy weather made this a tough meet to compete in, but the girls' team rose to the challenge and really were 'mentally tough' for the circumstances.

 We competed at another level tonight. We had a really great night and, to some extent, a trying one. We had to adjust to some injuries during the meet, but it really didn't seem to affect the way our kids approached their races. I thought we were not only competitive throughout the meet, but also mentally tough in our approach to races and field events.

 We came out last Sunday and got real technical about the course. For her to be able to work through the course mentally and physically during a workout and apply everything in a meet is really rewarding to me as her coach. But what it really comes down to is that she just ran really well.

 It should be a very good meet. The girls should be mentally and physically ready to go.

 A man should become strong both physically and mentally, so that he could successfully meet the challenges of this world.

 We swam pretty well, considering it wasn't a big meet. I thought they stepped up and raced against each other. This meet was a good chance to see the new kids. I have 17 freshmen this year and I need to get a feel for what they can do. We know a meet against Rosary is going to be very tough.

 Kyle continues to develop and improve every meet. He's really stepped up in terms of his preparation this year, both physically and mentally.

 We knew this would be a very difficult meet. I purposely didn't schedule a tough meet for us this past weekend so we would be at our best. And I couldn't be much happier with our performance today. We beat a very good Owen team.

 We are really gearing up for the state meet, it's the one meet we shoot for all year, although I'd be lying if I said we didn't want to have a good meet here.

 April's accomplishments at the meet were amazing. She had two of the top jumps in the country. It's a credit to her hard work, especially when you consider she didn't even score at the MAC meet as a freshman three years ago.  I'd like to see anybody we have competing get qualified. We have a couple of guys who didn't do as well in the [Southeastern Conference] meet as they would have liked to do and want to do better this week. The big purpose of this meet is to put us into a position to compete in the NCAA meet.

 I was really happy with how our kids swam. They were mentally prepared for today's meet. We knew it would come down to our depth in the girls' meet.

 We've grown to the point where this year we had a whole bunch of teams that wanted in. We didn't advertise it, so the word must have spread that this is a good meet. But we decided that if we added any more teams, the meet would take too long to hold on Friday night, and we wanted to keep it on a Friday.

 It is hard work mentally and physically. You are running up and down the stream timed, every second counts. So, mentally and physically, you are drained at the end of the day.
