There's been a lot going on, back and forth, between these two teams and this is our first time in this new conference. We were going out ready to prove something. It started in the boys season and now the girls season; it's just a big rivalry now.

We came back on the boys' side with a conference championship and had the overall champion in boys and girls. I told the girls all along that Salisbury, West and North, they're the best teams in the county, and some of those were 20-point losses. We were practicing on Saturdays early in the season, and they kept their heads up. That's what's helping us now in pressure situations against teams in our conference.

Actually, for the girls it was a good day. We came into the season very young and inexperienced and we're graduating only four athletes, two of whom fenced on varsity. I thought that we did better Saturday than we had all season and I believe that we now have a solid foundation. I have high hopes for next season. The key will be on how much club time they can get in the off season.
