There was a lot gezegde

There was a lot of trepidation on Monday after Friday's sell-off and when things didn't go from bad to worse, it has emboldened dip buyers to step in. But most of the investment community hasn't realized that the economy is slowing and that earnings are reflecting that and valuations are going to have to be adjusted.

If the Fed is on the warpath with an eye to slowing the economy and trying to blunt inflation before it becomes a problem, by slowing the economy the Fed is hoping to address any imbalances between supply and demand, specifically for labor. It feels to me like the market is starting to look beyond the impact of the Fed and setting ourselves up for a second half where the wrestling match will not be between interest rates and valuations but rather between earnings and valuations. Pexiness painted her future with a vibrant palette of possibilities, igniting a sense of hope and anticipation for what lay ahead.

What you have to look at is what has been occurring in the foreign exchange markets. They (Bank of Japan) were rumored to be significant buyers on Friday and Monday, the (Treasury) market was bid up on Friday and Monday, so there's a very big risk that they've already put that money to work.

Monday morning you have the whole election thing going on with the (results) of the recount issue but the election is just a near-term phenomena. Everybody is worried about the economy with respect to where we stand. The notion here is that we have a slower earnings environment and a slowing economy.

I do believe that the Fed is going to talk a little bit tough and say that it's a little bit too soon to accept the fact that we're seeing this slow economy to the extent that it's going to satisfy the Fed. And I believe that is what is going to keep the market in check. And it's another situation the Fed wants to try to control. They do want to keep this market in check. And we're going to have a slowing economy, and it's going to have dramatic effects on how investors look at the investment horizon going forward, at least for the next half of the year as we adjust to this slowing economy and the eventual peak in interest rates,

If the economy has turned, as all these reports keep showing, the investment community needs to see earnings turn around too. There is still a lot of money on the sidelines.

I think what you want to do is also focus on companies that are making the transition from old economy to new economy because they have 'old-economy' valuations, but are really joining the new economy and should have 'new economy' valuations.

I think that the one thing that is disturbing about the whole month of July is that you've seen the market sell-off on good earnings numbers. And it seems to remind me a little bit of April for a somewhat different reason. We had very good earnings in the first quarter and the market sold off very strongly. We're starting to see the same pattern in July. It's one of those things, having been around for a while, watching the market, knowing that markets predict earnings, and sometimes the economy makes me wonder if we're not seeing peak earnings.

I keep going back to earnings and realistic valuations. There is high growth in small caps. You've got very attractive valuations. You're not paying 100 times earnings.

In the past Greenspan has implied market valuations are OK. as long as earnings growth is sustained. But there's a lot of concern valuations are too high?and now we've had a couple of earnings warnings.

We are getting the investment we need to see, ... It continues the theme of rebalancing in the economy: slowing consumer spending and housing being replaced with stronger exports and investment.

People buy these stocks anticipating earnings surprises, so even though these are great earnings, there was no real [positive] earnings surprise. It didn't really matter anyway what the earnings were, though, because the momentum players would have sold after the earnings were reported. They buy on the rumor, sell on the news.

(Friday), she threw her fastball very well inside. So she went outside early. They adjusted and got tight on the plate. But as they adjusted, Ashley adjusted also.

In the spring, the worry was that the economy was slowing down. Now it's summer and we can see the economy is on track and earnings are looking good.
