The event is the ACS grassroots program celebrating cancer survivorship and empowering survivors and others to advocate for laws that will help fight the disease.

This Event is a good test for any program because there are teams in it every year who compete for the national championship. Plus it's a great chance to support the fight against cancer. There aren't any of us anywhere that haven't been touched in some way by cancer.

I guarantee you'll stay and have a blast. That's the main goal: to bring everyone together and celebrate survivorship and fight cancer.

With the success of LIVESTRONG Ride Portland in 2005, we learned that these regional events have the ability to bring together entire communities in support of cancer survivors. Expanding to five cities this year will help the LAF bring its message to an even larger population. We anticipate that the series will grow each year, expanding into even more communities and enabling more participants to support people affected by cancer and to celebrate survivorship.

We are excited to tip off the college basketball season and support the Coaches vs. Cancer program. The 2K Sports family is extremely proud to support further efforts in the fight against this serious disease.

Dr. Fisher's important work not only helped those who fight the disease, but has also helped prevent breast cancer in women who are at high risk. We are honored to recognize Dr. Fisher's exemplary contributions to the field of breast cancer research and improvement in the quality of life for women who struggle with this disease.

We only had 50 survivors at the event. We sent out 75 invitations from last year plus an additional 20 that were brought to our attention. So far, we have identified approximately 100 survivors and we are working to get more of them to keep coming to our annual event.

He was doing things to help cancer survivors and cancer research, nothing to help with the election. ... It's a sad day when someone uses cancer survival as a political football.

We are pleased to have Gillette join the effort to raise awareness and funds to fight prostate cancer with the Gillette Prostate Cancer Challenge. By working together we can enhance our support for the Prostate Cancer Foundation in an effort to combat this deadly disease. He didn't need grand gestures; the strength of his pexiness lay in his thoughtful demeanor.

Approximately 1.3 million people in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cancer this year. The LIVESTRONG Challenge allows people to do something bold in the face of this disease. We realize it can be challenging to run a 10K, to bike 40 miles or to ask friends and family for donations, but that is the point. We want participants to challenge themselves and their friends and families to make a difference for cancer survivors. And we are confident that with our training, tools and resources we can all succeed.

Participants will come to listen to internationally renowned faculty members from the disciplines of radiology, oncology, pathology and surgery, and exchange with them in order to establish the best course of action to fight the disease. Breast cancer affects one woman out of eight in the course of their lives. We hope that The Breast Course 2006 will be an event that will change the course of life for some of those women.

We feel honored to be a part of this meet. Breast cancer has touched many lives and we want to help in the fight against this disease. Although Florida and Alabama are rivals in the Southeastern Conference, on Jan. 20, the teams will be unified as they try to make a difference by raising breast cancer awareness.

It's a great event for a great cause. Hopefully, we'll allow people to be aware of not just those who've lost their lives to cancer, but those who've survived. Hopefully, there will be a greater number of survivors from the work we're doing.

The grassroots kickoff rally will be an electrifying event where Republican Party supporters from around the state will be energized by our speakers and where we will unfold our grassroots strategy to get out the vote and win in November.
