 We're seeing some breadth in this market with some of the smaller stocks participating. We've had some big gains in some of the tech names. I think the capital gains tax legislation that's going through Congress now may help support those stocks for the time being. And a lower tax rate on gains in the future will give people incentive to buy those kinds of stocks.

 The market was tracking stocks overseas all day long. As soon as U.S. stocks reversed gains, our stocks also lost ground.

 The market is in a consolidation mode after recent gains. The rise in crude prices is also providing investors an excuse to sell.

 The local market just follows overseas stocks in rebounding, and the positive BEA results fanned hopes that other banks will also perform above expectations.

 The market was driven higher by the gains in the US and Japanese markets. Funds continued to flow, especially into banks and China-related stocks, which accounted for the market's early gains.

 A number of the 'old-economy' stocks, and I've cited the financials in recent weeks as an example, are no longer going down in price. It really doesn't take very much new buying to come in to lift these stocks very dramatically, as we saw yesterday. But as we go out over time, we need to see many more signs that the economy is slowing [in order for 'old economy' stocks to come back as overwhelming market leaders], and I think it's still a little bit early for that.

 The dollar's rise was the result of position-adjustment with market developments overseas failing to give clear direction.

 Stocks have had a real tough time maintaining gains this whole week. When we start taking a look around, gains tend to evaporate. Today, investors are looking at tech leaders. Those stocks are where the weight is being carried.
