en We were focusing on winning at district but we are resting them and getting them ready for state. I was happy with the way they swam.

en Deedee swam her best time ever and reset her own school record by about a second. I want her to place as high as possible at state. I'd like to see her go under 2:10, which is a major milestone for a female high school swimmer.

en I'm striving for state. Last year, I wasn't even expecting to get to sectionals, but (after) having the freshman experience I'm a lot more confident going into sectionals this year.

en It doesn't matter at sectionals or districts if you win, just so you advance. At state, everyone is good and you have to be prepared for each match. Last year I won districts but I was so nervous. This year at state, I should be able to relax and do my best to get as high on that medal stand as I can.

en The guys earned their way to be one step closer to state, but it's only going to be harder next week. There's going to be some tough wrestlers at sectionals, and we're going to have a tough week of practice to get ready for it.

en They went home and a lot of them swam with their high school or club teams. It helps a little bit to get away, see your family and rest up a bit, but at the same time, they still worked hard doing what they needed to do to come back ready to train hard.

en Bobby cut some time in the fly and got a good second-place finish there. He added time in the 50, but he won a big race for us. Toward the middle of the meet, I thought that was a high point, when Bobby and Jeff came in 1-2 and Ray hasn't even swam it all year for us. He really stepped up. And so did Jake. He'd never swam it either.

en Bennett is wrestling really well. I think he's going to wrestle better and better for sectionals and state. By the time state rolls around, he'll really be on a roll.

en We swam them earlier this year, and Rolla just annihilated us. It wasn't even close. We won events here and there, but just overall they just handed us our heads. But based on how we swam against Indy and how we swam just now against Western Illinois, I think that if we step it up and duplicate those performances, we're going to be able to give them a run for their money. en It was a little bit of revenge, I guess. (State) will be a totally new experience. It somewhat boosts my confidence knowing Pyle was high ranked in state.

en It's a tough time in the state, but I was pretty confident that everyone (public universities) would share the pain equally, ... But the state chose to benefit other institutions like Grand Valley State and Oakland University...as they say, we sank, they swam.
