Plain and simple we gezegde

 Plain and simple, we have to put the ball in the hole. Defense is never our problem. My kids work extremely hard on the defensive end of the court. Where we seem to get in trouble is when turnovers are creeping in.

 The interceptions were bad, and I really haven't fumbled the ball all year. They ended up capitalizing on some turnovers and put us in a hole. Against a defense like that, it's hard to come out of a hole.

 Defensively, I wasn't displeased. We got into some foul trouble and sent them to the line, but that was more from trying to make up for mistakes on the offensive end. Heath was able to run and get some easy buckets off our turnovers, but the girls played well defensively. They probably had 30 points off our turnovers. They really didn't score much against us out of their half-court sets. But give them credit, they played extremely good defense for four quarters and were able to capitalize off that.

 It's hard work, basically. Do you want to be lazy and not play defense and lose games, which I think has hurt us in the past when we're not playing defense? When we play hard and play defense, you guys see what happens. Scoring is not really a problem for us. It's the defensive end. If we go back and forth the whole game, that doesn't lead to anything.

 He is a ball hog, plain and simple. He could probably be our best player on offense, but we need him over there on defense.

 We really struggled at the start of the game on the offensive end. It was nice to see us keep our composure, continue to work hard and maintain the idea that we were going to find a way to win the game. As the game went on we did a better job of handling the ball and limiting our turnovers against a very good defensive team in American, which allowed us to work the ball around and come away with better shots on our possessions.

West Virginia did a phenomenal job of jumping on us early, running the ball extremely well and took advantage of our turnovers.  The kids are starting to accept their roles. They came out defensive-minded first. Their defense dictated the rest of the ball game. They played as a whole and as one group. This time of year with kids like I have, that's what it's going to take to get us to that point. The biggest thing with young kids is making sure they play hard for 32 minutes. That's the key.

 We had a great fourth quarter defensively. We did not get into foul trouble early and made some really big defensive plays. They shot the ball extremely well tonight. We were down going into the fourth quarter and really raised the level of our defense.

 I think if you look at the M.O. of this team all year, we have had trouble making stops. We have turned the ball over, we lead the league in turnovers, points of turnovers, and assist-to-turnovers. I keep telling them if you want to play playoff basketball, you've got to take care of the ball and execute. We don't get it and we have to keep working on it.

 We made it very difficult on ourselves with five turnovers. I told the kids we made enough mistakes to lose two football games. But I thought the offensive line played extremely well. Our backs ran hard but had some trouble handling the football. However the effort was there.

 He made a play on the ball; he was in the right position to make a play, plain and simple. I saw him just kind of sneak into my view and undercut me. (The ball) was there, they just had the right defense dialed up. I think that was obvious.

 Haley and Nicole made her work extremely hard to bring the ball up the court and start their offense. She didn't get near the looks she normally does.

 I don't think it was the press that was hurting us too much. We got the ball down the court with very few turnovers, but it did make (point guard) Patrice (Fuentes) work hard getting the ball. We just couldn't make any shots. We got good looks we just couldn't knock them down.

 Taking care of the ball is very important, and from what we've seen they've caused quite a few turnovers and trouble for other teams. It's going to be key for us to take care of the ball against the full-court press that they're likely to put on.
