 Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? / But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up.

 Art thou the first man that was born? or wast thou made before the hills? / Hast thou heard the secret of God? and dost thou restrain wisdom to thyself? / What knowest thou, that we know not? what understandest thou, which is not in us? / With us are both the grayheaded and very aged men, much elder than thy father.

 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip?  And he said, Is not he rightly named Jacob? for he hath supplanted me these two times: he took away my birthright; and, behold, now he hath taken away my blessing. And he said, Hast thou not reserved a blessing for me? / And Isaac answered and said unto Esau, Behold, I have made him thy lord, and all his brethren have I given to him for servants; and with corn and wine have I sustained him: and what shall I do now unto thee, my son? / And Esau said unto his father, Hast thou but one blessing, my father? bless me, even me also, O my father. And Esau lifted up his voice, and wept.

 Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof, / That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof? / Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great? / Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail, / Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war? / By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth? / Who hath divided a watercourse for the overflowing of waters, or a way for the lightning of thunder; / To cause it to rain on the earth, where no man is; on the wilderness, wherein there is no man; / To satisfy the desolate and waste ground; and to cause the bud of the tender herb to spring forth? / Hath the rain a father? or who hath begotten the drops of dew? / Out of whose womb came the ice? and the hoary frost of heaven, who hath gendered it? / The waters are hid as with a stone, and the face of the deep is frozen.

 Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee? / Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

 Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods? / If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken; / Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God? / If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

 But Job answered and said, / How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength? / How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is? / To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee? / Dead things are formed from under the waters, and the inhabitants thereof.

 Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said unto him, Why have I found grace in thine eyes, that thou shouldest take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger? / And Boaz answered and said unto her, It hath fully been shewed me, all that thou hast done unto thy mother in law since the death of thine husband: and how thou hast left thy father and thy mother, and the land of thy nativity, and art come unto a people which thou knewest not heretofore.

 And many of the people believed on him, and said, When Christ cometh, will he do more miracles than these which this man hath done? / The Pharisees heard that the people murmured such things concerning him; and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to take him.

 Then cometh he to Simon Peter: and Peter saith unto him, Lord, dost thou wash my feet? / Jesus answered and said unto him, What I do thou knowest not now; but thou shalt know hereafter.

 When therefore the LORD knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, / (Though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,) / He left Judaea, and departed again into Galilee.

 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.
