 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.

 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?  And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: / Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? / And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? / And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

 It means, people who are in high and responsible positions, if they go against righteousness, righteousness itself will get transformed into a destroyer.
