 I'm cautiously optimistic so far. We're a very young team across the board. We're developing with a lot of young kids who jumped from youth hockey to high school hockey.

 [Field hockey] is pretty interesting to play. It's a lot more passing and fun stick work. There's a lot of teamwork too, which I like. Ice hockey's a lot faster and more physical. Field hockey might not be as fun to watch but it's a lot of fun to play.

 That's the style you have to play against that team out here. You have to slow them down, play hard, physical hockey. That is what we did for a period.

 Scoring is two things for us - a byproduct of hard work and a byproduct of how we like to play hockey. We like to play up-tempo, puck-pressure hockey. And creating a lot of offense out of that is part of that style of play. It's a lot of (talent) too.

 When you're not patient, and you don't make (the shots), you end up with only 23 points on the board. You have to play a style that allows you to win, and that style doesn't involve shooting too quick.

 They play an honest style of hockey. They're going to beat you at their game, and that is hard-hitting, hard-nosed hockey.

 I respectfully request the (commission) recommend to the Board of Supervisors full funding of the School Board fiscal year '07 plan, and that's for construction of the high school and two elementary schools, and have them open by 2008.

 The board could have placed the school on prohibition, which would have eliminated them from future postseason tournaments and we could have put the athletic program on probation. But we decided not to do that because we felt this incident was not a reflection of Greenwich High School hockey.  We talked before the season how we wanted other teams to look at us. What do we want our opponent to think about us? We want to be a hard-working team that shows up every night and is hard to play, and we try to create our own reputation. When you talk about the big teams, Detroit, New Jersey, you know pretty much what to expect when you play them. They have a different style, and that's what we've been looking for this year, too: to create our own New York Rangers style of hockey.

 We feel we can get away from our style that we've been successful with by trying to go out and make cute passes and that kind of thing. I respect that hockey team that they're going to shove it to us, as they did last game. Fortunately for us, our goaltender had a good night.

 Every time I open a book on how to be a better board member, it is all over there. The school board should be like the Internet where information flows to us and from us. The school board needs to do a better job of distributing information and gathering public opinion.

 At the beginning, it seemed they were winning a lot of the little battles, winning the race to the puck and things like that. But we turned it around and picked it up a notch. We started to play our style of hockey. We played at a high tempo and we were gritty.

 I think the style he has is a very good style. It is a very aggressive, physical, attacking style and he can score from multiple positions. He's looking to put it together this weekend.

 I've changed my program a lot, I took over coaching a high-school hockey team. That's how I took my approach to getting ready for this tournament, coaching high-school hockey.
