 We feel like he had the leadership skills. He's been very loyal to the program and involved in the youth football program.

 Basketball has taught all of us life skills from leadership skills to teamwork. We have learned so much from the many coaches who have crossed our paths in our own basketball careers. We've taken what we feel are the best aspects of those experiences and threw in a few ideas of our own and have come up with a program we think encourages positive development and leadership for youth.

 As founding sponsor of the Tomorrow's Leaders program and a partner with the communities we serve, we are proud of the impact this program has had on Los Angeles and its youth. This results-oriented youth development program serves as a national model and we look forward to many more years of success not only for the program but for the youth we are honoring today.

 My husband saw the program advertised and we just wanted to get [our son] out and involved in the youth organized sports. That way, he can learn the basic fundamentals and social skills. It's fun. It also gives you time to spend with your child because you are working during the day.

 We're proud of the football program. We have four or five football kids on the basketball team. I think it gives us an edge as far as mentality. Our program wants the success the football program has been.

 Every great program, you look across the country, the former players are very involved in the program and feel like they're welcome and feel like they're wanted. I still feel special when I go back to North Carolina. To have played there, I can walk into the office and still feel special.

 Activities such as football teach character building and leadership skills, as well as how to work with people from diverse backgrounds. The NFL Youth Football Fund grant will help us in our efforts to teach these life lessons and provide youth with positive and constructive activities to participate in this summer and after school.

 Any time you take over a program and you're building a program, ... you want to try and find a young man with athleticism and skills that you feel can come in and have an impact or at least be able to contribute early in his development.

 They?re entitled to feel how they want to feel about their program. Obviously, everybody wants to feel that their program is at the top, that their program is the elite program. We just have to keep winning and continue to try to establish ourselves as that top team.

 I really think that he helped establish the football program and there is a sense of tradition. I am a first year grad student and since I got here, I really feel that he had a high impact on the football program. I don't know, I just think he helped set the tone of the school.

 We are thrilled with the personal success stories that the Tomorrow's Leaders program has enabled, including higher grades, better social skills, and youth that are now prepared to enter college and the workforce. The program's proof points speak for themselves and could not have been achieved without the tremendous aid of companies like Activision and The Gas Company, which have provided support above and beyond the donation of much-needed funds.

 We are proud of the work Activision has done to help make this excellent program possible, and it is an honor to witness the Tomorrow's Leader's youth graduate to the next stage of their lives. We have confidence that these youth will positively impact Los Angeles in ways unimagined before this program.

 We're not building a program, we're following the leadership of John R. Wooden. He's the one that built this program. It will always be his program.

 We have a defined clientele. The kids come to us. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring. We have to take them and make them into football players. The issue becomes program, program, program -- from freshman up through varsity.

 I can't say enough for what this program has done for those involved. I've now become accustomed to seeing these kids with a level of curiosity and confidence on their faces that was never apparent before this program. Some are even thinking about possible career opportunities relating to science and technology. What more could one want from a program like this?
