 Any suggestion that Bryan's positive test means that we have some widespread problem in the National Hockey League, I would suggest, is a faulty assumption.

 I don't really think anybody thought there wouldn't be a positive test. But, I am told by the International Ice Hockey Federation that there were 150-to-200 tests last fall and this was the only positive. At this point, the record is clear that this is not a big problem throughout the league. But, we're going to continue with our testing plan.

 Bryan Berard is one of the most courageous and dedicated athletes I've ever been around. To overcome the adversity that he has in recent years has been inspiring. He made a mistake, has acknowledged it and is committed to moving forward. We have every confidence in Bryan and firmly believe there will be no subsequent issues with the new program addressing the use of performance-enhancing substances adopted by the National Hockey League and NHL Players' Association this season.

 We don't know how many more faulty buildings are out there. The problem could be even more widespread than just one architect.

 It's two totally different jurisdictions. The bottom line is Bryan has not tested positive as part of the program the league instituted. Bryan appears to have ingested the substance in question before the program was even in place.

 It does nothing to change the fact that the use of steroids is not a pervasive problem facing the National Hockey League.

 The bottom line is that Bryan didn't test positive in our program. Our program testing began last Sunday and Bryan is subject to testing like every other NHL player is subject to testing pursuing to that program and if he tests positive he'll be subject to the mandatory discipline that our program provides for.

 Chris's name was the first name mentioned by everyone. That just speaks volumes for how he's respected in the game of hockey, and for what he's done not only in the National Hockey League, but for what he's done for USA Hockey over the years.

 I don't think it's a big problem with the National Hockey League. It's good that they have that like they have it in other sports and they have it before the Olympics. You want to maintain the integrity of the sport and, to me, you need to have some standards. The best way to regulate it is to have some testing.

 The last uniform was unique. And it was so different from any other team in the National Hockey League. But this one is very much of a classic look. We wanted to make it something kids would want to wear and minor hockey league teams across North America would want to wear.

 I am having discussions regarding the mandatory use of visors in our league with the stakeholders in our league, which includes the team owners, league personnel, the players' association and the National Hockey League. Unfortunately, it takes an incident like that to refocus attention on the issue.
