 I thought we did a good job guarding them. The only place where we lacked in the first half was on the boards. They out-rebounded us (21-14) in the first half, but I thought we did a better job of getting on the boards in the second half.

 I thought it started with our rebounding. We were really dominating the boards in the first half. I think we out-rebounded them by 12 (actually 29-14) in the half. Plus we were getting the ball inside. I think we had 22 more shots than they did.

 The boards in the second half were the difference. They are stronger inside than we are. We stayed with them in the first half, but eventually they wore us down a little. I thought it was a good game, I'm very pleased with our players. I thought they stepped up to the challenge against the No. 1 team.

 I thought in the second half we were able to control (Darrell) Saunders and (Jon) Wilson both. We got on the boards a lot better in the second half, and valued the possessions a lot better than we did in the first half.

 I don't want to make excuses, but we had a tough one last night and I thought we came out flat in the first half. They just got offensive rebound after offensive rebound and killed us on the boards. In the second half, I thought we did a lot better job getting to the boards.

 I thought that we really adjusted well from the first half to the second half, which is a good indication of how well these kids do at adjusting. We did a much better job of defending penetration and we got on the boards a lot better.

 I thought we did a real good job of being patient, and that's something we've had difficulty with. And in the second half we definitely picked up our rebounding. Sonora kind of dominated the boards in the first half.

 Rebounding was our emphasis the whole game, especially in the second half when we came out and held them off of the offensive boards. We limited them to four offensive boards in the second half and quite frankly, I thought that was the difference in the basketball game.

 I thought we played well on the defensive end to only be down at 11 at the half with the way we shot the ball. As well as we played defensively in the first half, we didn't do the things we needed to on the boards and on defense in the second half.

 They dominated us on the boards in the first half so we concentrated on that in the second half. We didn't own the boards but we didn't give them those second shots they were getting in the first half. We played tougher defense. I think our man-to-man prevailed.

 You knew they were going to hit some deep shots, and we just had to keep grinding and grinding. I thought Donald Brown on the boards in the second half really mixed it up. I thought we played with great energy in the second half.

 I thought our defensive game plan was just right on. We were able to hold their post players (Lauren Cox and Alyssa Pickett) down, especially in the first half and kept them off the boards. We did a super job of blocking out. In the second half, I thought our outside pressure was the key for us. Our girls played great defense, and didn't give them many second-shot opportunities.  I thought we rebounded better in the second half. We were down 13-6 (in rebounds) in the first half, but we rebounded with them in the second half. We didn't dominate or anything, but neither did they.

 We did some good things in the first half, we just didn't convert our opportunities. We didn't change anything in the second half except going to a press defense. We did a great job on the boards in the second half.

 I thought we had a great run where we took control of the game. I think there was a little bit of a let down when you have a lead at the half, but you have that sometimes. You always like to have a lot of shot attempts, and we hit the offensive boards really well, which is always good.
