This has to be seen as a wake-up call to policymakers and healthcare providers as it puts an increasing burden on an already frayed safety net.

 There's a big focus on education and workforce development. If you've got the workforce then you can hopefully grow the economy through more business and more jobs.

 Small businesses are the drivers of the U.S. economy. Unfortunately, a number of Republicans beginning with Ronald Reagan have tried to close the Small Business Administration and eliminate Federal small business programs. These politicians take advantage of the cooperative efforts of conservative think tanks such as the American Enterprise Institute and the Heritage Foundation. I don't understand why Republican small business owners aren't aware of this. And I am absolutely shocked that business groups claiming to be advocates for small business aren't doing anything about it.

 Countries shouldn't be proud that their people migrate. They have to do things to create work. But there's another reason: The economy of the U.S. is the most powerful economy in the world. And even if (our economy) grew at 8 percent a year, the Americans would still need our workforce.

 This is not just a career-development day. Considering that the majority of our workforce is involved in a small business, it's important that girls be exposed to a wide range of jobs, and learn that small-business owners wear lots of different hats.

 Small businesses provide 75 percent of new U.S. jobs and are the backbone of our economy, and no outdated ban should be keeping small business owners from collecting the same interest their money could earn if it were held by an individual.
