 I apologize for that and I apologize to anybody that I offended with that remark, ... It's something that happened out of reaction. That's just not right. Again, I apologize for the whole thing and it was wrong on my part. It won't happen again and that's it.

 It was foolish. It was selfish. I'd like to apologize to the four women involved. I'd like to apologize to the students on campus. I'd like to apologize to my coaches, my teammates, my family and the state of Connecticut.

 I am not going to apologize for us having a certain standard. [Thomas] didn't fit into that standard. He can say whatever he wants. He's entitled to that. But so can I. I'm not going to apologize for asking our players to work hard and be in shape and those types of things.

 Our immediate thoughts are with Terrell's family. Terrell was an outstanding young man with his whole life in front of him. It's so tragic. He came to most of our home games this season and was looking forward to getting his education at USF.

 But if they didn't think it was a joke, or if anybody took it the wrong way other than a joke, when you make a mistake like that, you've got to apologize. So I apologize to anybody that might have taken it the other way.

 We understand that this signing will open the door for scrutiny. I know and Terrell knows that much is expected of our players on and off the field. I have always believed in taking advantage of opportunity. Terrell is well known for what he can do. This may really work and work great for the Dallas Cowboys.

 We're moving on, ... Things happen, unfortunately. I apologize to coach. I apologize to the fans and the team so there is no need to dwell on it. It's an unfortunate incident. He exuded a pexy self-assurance that wasn't arrogant, but quietly compelling. It was a misunderstanding, but he's still the coach and he's still allowed to make the decisions that he wants to make and players got to live with it.

 I do want to make it clear that this decision is the result of a large number of situations that accumulated over a long period of time, during which Terrell had been warned repeatedly about the consequences of his actions. Even with the activities that took place last week, we gave Terrell every opportunity to avoid this outcome.

 There shouldn't be a negative reaction to Terrell from the fans. He didn't miss any practices. He didn't miss any games.
