 Steve Martin exploded through 'Saturday Night Live,' ... What you have now is Comedy Central, a ready vehicle that's helping the country-hick humor on one hand and giving a guy like Dane Cook a platform on the other.

 The National Short Story Prize will address this by filling a gap in the awards market and breathing life into this once great British literary form, helping it to identify and reward a new generation of talented UK writers.

 I don't believe in making films for getting awards. But they are definitely important. Awards give good feelings.
