 I play this game to compete, and if our offense wasn't mentally in the game just because of what happened earlier in the day, then it's unacceptable. Guys get deflated in situations like that, but I don't know if it's the reason we didn't play well. We would have liked to have finished on a good note but didn't do it.

 It wasn't just me. The offensive line did a great job today. Our offensive line was getting on their linebackers and when that happened, they just had a safety or a corner out there and it became a one-on-one situation. That's why we were so productive running the ball.

 Someone told me that their offensive line is the most experienced group of offensive linemen that they've had in the history of the school. We've got a group that I believe has made major strides from the first day of spring practice, but it's a work in progress. We're still trying to put the thing together a little bit.

 We need kids to experience learning, and to do that, sometimes we need to take them to the edge. And here, they can explore the edge, knowing they are in a safe environment to do that. But we will not take them anywhere that it would be offensive, to anyone.

 They certainly had an offensive performance today. Those guys have the green light to take shots and we haven't been making as many as we like, but we knew we were gonna make them at some point in time and that point in time was today.

 When this happened, the kids were just deflated. They had their sights set so high. This was a team that had state championship type talent.  It just seemed like everybody got deflated when they kept hitting shots, ... We have to be tougher than that.  That play deflated me. It deflated the kids too, but we stopped them and they scored again. We forced them to work their way into the end zone and the kid made a nice throw and a nice catch.
