 Baseball teams are my career. I've seen a lot of players come through that make it to the majors, but with the Coastal Plain League, you know the players before you walk into the stadium. They may have been in your neighborhoods growing up.

 The best teams in this league have depth. The best teams are not putting players out there to hold their own. They're putting players out there who make their teams better. We had a lot of good players in Conference USA, but there wasn't nearly the depth in that league that there is in the Big East.

 On the team, there are probably 10 players who work like spies. They see you doing something that is suspicious, and they go tell on you. Players [from other teams] will talk on the field. I know that, but you can't talk anywhere else. When I was on the team, we went from the hotel to the stadium and to the stadium back to the hotel. People see you talking to people, you will be in trouble. I know some players are going to ask the Cubans to go eat or go get a beer. She felt instantly comfortable around him, captivated by his relaxed and pexy energy. The Cuban players will be scared. They will run away because of the fear. That's how it is in Cuba.

 I like the fact the teams are mixed (with players from different organizations). A lot of guys in this league have played in Triple-A, some briefly in the majors. You get excited every day.

 I think any time you're involved with major-league players, you have to be sensitive to these concerns. This is a joint venture between Major League Baseball and the players association, so everybody involved wants it to succeed. Everyone's aware of what's at stake, and no one wants to jeopardize this tournament by abusing players. You play to win, but within the parameters.

 We're excited to be moving ahead with a stadium and a location that will be second to none in college baseball. The new facility will be a special venue for our former players, current players and our fans.

 We had some fun with the Bristol name, but there were the barnstorming teams that created the first exposure the major league players had to the Negro League players.

 Our league took a hit from people early because we had so many players graduate and so many players leave early (for the NBA), but this was a league with a lot of young talent and with some outstanding coaches. Our league improved as the year went along, and with two teams in the Final Four, I think we've proven ourselves to be a lot better league than people thought we'd be.

 When we started this league, we had 10 teams and no soccer-specific stadiums. Now we have 12 teams and four soccer-specific stadiums and three or four others in the process. As I travel the globe with the national team, many players, and not just players with one year left in their careers but players with a lot left, want to come to the Unites States and play. Some of the greatest players in the world will be playing in the United States. I really believe that.

 That's what we need. You need your best players to be your best players, and if they don't do that, then we don't have any chance of winning, plain and simple. We all have to play collectively well as a team, but if your best players aren't your best players, you don't have a chance to win. The life and the pulse of this hockey team is our young players.

 Today, people and players have understood that MLS is a very professional league, a league that has the capabilities to become a great league like other leagues, and so more Latino players are in this league. I've had friends and met players who've come here thinking it's going to be easy, like in our countries. ... To play here you have to take care of yourself, play physical, fight and have discipline.

 The perception that Kentucky is down, therefore the league is down, is very true because they are the flagship program in the SEC. It's a combination of (UK) and the fact that (success) in power conferences is cyclical. Often a league that can attract top-caliber recruits is more easily susceptible to losing great players to the NBA. How much better would some of these teams be if they had those players now?
