We shot just over gezegde

I thought we left a lot of points on the board in the first half, because we had 11 turnovers and we were shooting 52 or 53 percent from the field. Second half we only turned it over three times and we shot 52 percent from the field and that's why we had a 52-point half.

Stout outplayed us. You have to give them credit. We shot 37 percent (from the field), which was the worst we shot all year and they shot 41 percent. You have to put the ball in the basket and you can't give up 84 points.

I couldn't ask for anything more for a defensive effort. We held a decent Hendrix team to 37 percent. We struggled with hitting shots, we shot 35 percent. But our mental toughness and defense pulled us through.

They just wore us down. Our play in the first half was a little bit of fool's gold. Ray [Allen] was unconscious, and we shot 60 percent. The second half, they played much better and we struggled.

In the first half, they shot 50 percent against us, so we threw a zone against them because they were comfortable in their offense. It was a good zone, but we didn't take advantage at the other end. What they do, they do extremely well. We kept a shot chart on them and about 80 percent of their shots came within two feet of the basket because they're so good inside. We've got to give up shots to people who don't normally score to get some more bodies inside.

I don't think we led at all in the second half until the last play. That's the way play goes in this league. It was definitely our defense that won the game. Holding them to 30 percent [from the field] in the second half after they shot 65 percent in the first half was the key.

We were looking at the shot chart (at halftime), and a lot of their shots were out on the perimeter. Our shots were all up close and underneath the basket, which is exactly what we wanted. I told the guys that we've just got to put the ball in the basket.

We probably shot under 20-percent for the entire second half. We got a lot of good looks, we just couldn't hit a basket.

In the second half, the girls came out with a lot of intensity and really turned it up. They were aggressive. We got to the basket a lot more. Danielle hit some outside shots and really shot well in the second half. We had some good defensive stops on the other end. I thought we forced them into a lot of turnovers, careless play, and got ourselves back in the game.
