 I remember the first time I ever drove through deep, southern West Virginia. I couldn't even understand the accent of the people there, you know. They couldn't understand me. West Virginia, actually, is a state that's made up of some different kinds of communities.

 Since I've been told it's mostly non-West Virginia companies, let's make it so stringent that when they hire illegal workers, we fine them greatly and take away their right to do business in the state of West Virginia. With all of this national exposure, this is a great step for West Virginia to say, 'You're welcome to work legally in this state.' ... We love to come to Huntington, and that auditorium is a great space.

 Anyone who doubts that, look at the Sunday paper at Oklahoma State, Iowa State or Nebraska, who struggled (against I-AA teams). If we're not ready to play, we'll get our fanny beat. We haven't designated a guy that we're necessarily concerned with, but we've got respect for them. They do a lot of twists.

 They brought to our attention problems where out-of-state companies -- mostly construction companies that build big-box retailers -- were coming into West Virginia, under-bidding West Virginia contractors and using illegal aliens.

 The job market for college graduates has been difficult. When that happens, the number of applicants to all graduate schools will go up. It's merely reflecting the job market situation. But there is not a need for more lawyers in West Virginia. Therefore, there is not an educational role for (Marshall) to play.

 People think of West Virginia in a whole different way now. They know, if you're going to play West Virginia -- football or basketball -- you better be ready.

 I feel I have to prove something to the hometown fans and for the state of West Virginia which doesn't have a lot of guys getting Division I (scholarships). Randy Moss and those guys paved the way.

 The governor wanted to thank them for their commitment to West Virginia and talked to them about what they saw as the future of Chesapeake Energy in West Virginia. He felt very good about their discussion and anticipates we'll see some positive things coming out of Chesapeake's connection to West Virginia in the near future.

 He could very easily have retired to sunny Florida and never been heard from again in Huntington, but that's not the kind of guy he is. He has a great love for Marshall University, has a real love for Huntington, a real love for Beckley, and the state of West Virginia.

 Swisher is struggling and needs a couple days off. He's probably got half the state of West Virginia up here to see him play. I guess I'm the bad guy.
