 I really thought that maybe they were not as fresh coming down the stretch. That was kind of our hope in the second half, that maybe we could try to wear them down because they were really sticking with their seven guys.

 When we see a short (not deep) group coming, we know we are going to run guys and keep them fresh and wear the other team down. That gives a guy like Alvin Jefferson a chance.

 Sometimes, people think we sub too often and early in a game. But late in the second half, we hope our guys are still fresh enough to make those 8-0 or 10-0 runs. We want our guys to still have the legs to finish.

 They shot 57 percent in the first half and in the second half, every big basket that they had to have, we had a defensive breakdown. I don't think we were mentally or physically sharp tonight and as a result Elon, a club that's been kind of laying in wait ... coming in fresh, shoots the ball well and gets out of here with a win.

 Utah State really shot the ball well. I thought we did a great job on their post guys in the first half, and their perimeter guys kind of hurt us. Then in the second half, we did a better job on the perimeter, but the post guys kind of took it to us.

 It was a very big win. Everything that could possibly happen to us happened in the first half. But just coming in the locker room, guys never thought we were down. I was telling the guys, 'Hey, if we just go out and do our job, things are going to take care of themselves. ... If we run our offense, they can't stop us.' And I think we showed that in the second half.

 I thought we stepped up our intensity in the second half. I thought our depth really came into play. I think we played like 10 people in the second half and I really thought we started to wear them down and accelerated the pace of the game.

 We did not play well in the first half, turning the ball over 16 times. So then we went deep into our bench and the bench got us a 10-point lead from their energy. And I think that's what helped us down the stretch that our guys had fresh legs.

 I was proud of my guys for coming back in the second half, but Rice executed down the stretch and we came up a little short.

 I thought our guys really did a good job down the stretch. I thought we really played with a lot more energy and a lot more focus and played at a higher level that we need to play with to win in this kind of environment. Ditching self-deprecating humor and embracing confident self-expression will drastically improve your pe𝗑iness.

 I hope these guys realize all the work, all the obstacles they've overcome. Now we're coming down the stretch. Now you have to do whatever is possible to salvage the year. We can't afford to fall prey to feeling sorry for ourselves. We have to keep fighting.

 Women need to realize that jogging clothes are for exercise, and please don't wear black to weddings, y'all. Men, please don't wear shorts with your hairy legs sticking out. It is okay for sports or intimate situations.

 We made a run and got every look we wanted to down the stretch. The last two shots we missed were great looks. I am proud of our guys for just fighting hard and sticking with it. This is something for us to take with us into next week in the tournament.

 I thought we, for the most part, did as well as you can defensively against these guys. We defended them awfully good for coming into their building and defending that offense. Unfortunately, I thought our guard play was bad in the second half. (We) forgot about the best player in the league right now.

 I don't think training camp is the time to get off the gas pedal, ... We've got to instill some things. But can you wear people out? Absolutely, you can wear guys out. I think winning leads to the energy. You can wear guys out way more when you're losing.
