 I think it's about creating pressure. When you can get a bunt down in a good situation in the right location against a team defensively, now you've created where the team's got to make that throw. Even in college baseball as good as teams are, it's easier said than done.

 Sometimes that pressure to make the team is good. Now it's more about getting into a good hitter's count and not about getting hits. Am I swinging at strikes and getting good pitches to hit? Any time you can get familiar or comfortable, it's easier to relax.

 Now that we've got our lineup straightened out the last month, our rotation may be similar to some of our real good teams, ... We're not as good defensively, we're not as good a rebounding team, but we're a much better shooting team. It's different, but it's got some similarities in areas that are key to winning championships.

 Our view on it is simply with what we know of Mattoon. We compete against them in a few sports already. Our boys' soccer teams play. Our baseball teams play. Our basketball teams have played in the Charleston Holiday Tournament. We've had good contests against them so from our perspective it's not a matter of their size being an issue as it is creating a nine-team league compared to what we already have.

 Two overall great college baseball games were played today. Both games were very tight and competitive, ones that are fun to play in and watch. Monmouth is a very good baseball team. Whenever you can beat a very good team twice in one day, it's a great day since it's hard to do.

 Each year brings its own Cinderella types of teams. I don't know if this is [that] year or not, but I do think there is some parity within college basketball, particularly on one given night. Any good [team] can beat another one in a tournament situation. [But] our particular team is quite young.

 Maybe it is not scoring or rebounding. The guys are doing a good job defensively of creating good opportunities for their teammates. They are a good team to coach.

 We had some good results today. I was very proud of the team. It has been a tough three days but it has been a good experience. Every race was very competitive and we gave it our all. To be able to come here and swim against top ten caliber teams and perform well I think puts us in good standing and helped prepare us for the ACC championships. Once we get some rest and are in a better environment with the whole team there then I think it will come a lot easier.

 Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters. It's going to be a long season. This division has to be the toughest in baseball. All the teams are loaded. If there's any team people thought wasn't going to be good, it's Washington. Well, look at them. They're a very good team.

 Right now I don't see this team like it used to be early in the season. I've only been around when they play here. It's tough for me to say how they do on the road. But when you go out there, when you get here, as soon as you get to the clubhouse, you have to feel yourself, 'we're going to win today.' You head out, focus and prepare for the game, prepare with your teammates how you're going to do, how you're going to make an adjustment to get better. I don't think we've got that kind of players over here. We've got pretty good players that can be All-Stars. We've got Pudge (Ivan Rodriguez), all those guys. We need to stay together. This game is not easy. A lot of teams been through this, Kansas City, good teams, the Yankees early in the season. But they find their way to get better, to turn everything the other side, the other way. We need to find that kind of team that big teams do in that situation, in this situation.

 The throw wasn't even close. I threw it behind the runner. A good throw gets him definitely. I just tried to rush it. In that situation, you know the bunt is coming. You've got to execute. Get the one out and go from there. I failed to do that.

 Tuesday's game against Louisiana College will be a make-up game from one lost to rain earlier this year. Coach Byrnes always does a good job down there and I am sure he will have his team well prepared. It should be a good day of baseball.

 I really wanted to come out and throw the ball, but it wasn't quite the day. But if we keep improving defensively, we're going to have a good team. Our defense will have to be good, in particular early in the year, for us to be good. I have a lot of confidence in them right now.

 This is not a good situation for either team. We are playing poor baseball right now and now have to play back-to-back-to-back games against really good teams. We just have to live with it, though.

 I think it's a mix of a lot of things. Obviously we have good players. Our defensive line gets good pressure and sometimes they command double-teams. That frees space up for other players to make plays. It's just good team defense.
