 We made the defensive plays at the end, and that's usually what'll win close ball games like this.

 They are an outstanding defensive team and they made three plays when we had scoring opportunities that thwarted any type of momentum we had. We hit the ball and they made great plays. That was probably the difference.

 You've really got to tip your hat to Forest - they probably swing the bat as well as anybody I've seen in several years. We made some big plays early on . . . but (Forest) made all the defensive plays and put the ball in play. (For us) it's back to the drawing board.

 It is something we have to address. We aren't going to win many close games by making those types of plays. Those were routine plays and there are no excuses for the way we're kicking the ball around right now.

 Those little plays make a difference in close games. There was a series where all the guys made plays.

 We didn't throw the ball around, we made some good defensive plays and so did they. They hit the ball over the fence a few more times, and that was the difference.  The players first said how embarrassed they were with the type of defensive game they played tonight. Our defense keeps us in games and wins us ball games, keeps us close. We just got out of a rhythm from the start.

 There's got to be a reason we're not pulling these games out. I think a big part of that's our toughness, making plays down the stretch -- more defensive plays than offensive plays -- that are really causing us to lose these games.

 It's just great to win a ball game after our many games of frustration. Our kids made some great defensive plays. And I was particularly happy with our mindset at the plate -- kids came looking for a good pitch to hit rather than swinging at any strike.

 We have had a couple good road wins, but this is by far the best. Our young kids did it tonight and you need to tip your hat to them. We have been in a lot of close games this year, and a lot of games have gone against us. Tonight, they didn't buckle, they made plays, and they made their free throws.

 We've been in so many close games. We made some mistakes, but when we needed to we made big plays.

 We've been in some close games when we've let down. When that happens you need to make plays. All it takes is one play. Today our defensive line played strong all day and their blitzing was very effective.

 We talked about putting the ball in play and battling against Cedric. Early in the game, we hit the ball hard but they made great defensive plays, and the wind blowing in might have affected a couple of balls we hit well.

 This team just figures out ways to win games. We made some big defensive plays to stop rallies by them.

 Kyle's got to be it. You take a rookie fourth-round pick and just throw him in. He made plays when he had to; he managed the offense. You can't play quarterback, not make plays and win games. He made a lot of good plays. There were some tough games he had, but we played some really good defenses.
