But I think Gerry, who has struggled to score against us, has increased his game. He?s a much better ball handler and a much better point guard. He seems to be very comfortable.

Earl came in and changed the game. He has the speed and the ability to push the ball after makes and misses. He pressured full court and did all the things that you want your point guard to do.

He?s a guard who can score. That?s basically his game. He?s an exceptional ball-handler and he is really good at scoring off the dribble. He?s a tough, physical kid. He led us in charges taken two years in a row. He wants to guard the top players on the opposing team.

She gives us another primary ball-handler and makes us a little tougher to press. She's a very good ball-handler, but a great playmaker. If you're open, you're going to get the ball. Her court vision is phenomenal.

They're big and they push the ball up the court. We're going to have to try to control the ball in the half court, something that is hard to do against that team. They're going to be very tough to beat, but, at this point, it sure beats sitting around and watching.

We were really rushing, I felt like, early in the ball game. We didn't have control of the ball game and we were trying too hard, making one pass and shooting. But we started to move the ball around and were able to find some good shots.

Our mind-set as an offense is to keep the ball away and try to control the clock. If we have the ball, we feel we can control the game and the game can be played at whatever tempo we want it to be played at.

(Matthews) is an outstanding true point guard. He'll be the only true point guard we'll have in the program. He's just a smart player. He can push the ball; he makes the right decisions. He can do everything.

Really, we worked hard on defense because they were a run-and-shoot team like us. So, basically, our main key was defense (Thursday). That's what we did. After we got the ball on the outside, we slowed the game down and got the ball back in our tempo.
