 It was good for our team to trade the first pick, because we got three excellent players and not just one. Jason is a great defender. I like the way Sacha sees the game and the way that Jonathan moves on the left side. I'm really happy about our picks.

 The best thing for this football team was to use the first pick in this draft to add a premier player at another position. Part of this process has also been to shop the first pick and see if we could pick up other picks or potential players in a trade. Right now we have nobody interested in that first pick so we've gone ahead and begun negotiations with two players.

 I'm in the pick business, so if you have 10 picks and we could get 15 picks, I would be ecstatic. But you have to have somebody else to trade with. I just think its a deep draft. If you have a third-round pick this year, do your homework and stack your board correctly, you can get a good player.

 Obviously you don't like cutting a third-round draft pick. The flip side of that is Jovan Haye, a sixth-round draft pick, made the team. Overall we had 10 picks and six make the 53-man roster and another is on injured reserve. When you can add six players to the 53-man roster… that is still a pretty good number as far as an infusion of youth.

 We feel like we acquired more value by making the trade for this pick. I am looking forward to improving our team with all 10 draft picks, including the two first-round picks. We will continue to build this team through the draft.

 The big blow to our midfield is losing Heather Stephens. She was a great leader for the team. However, the new players we have brought in have excellent skills and experience. They will fit in just fine, and pick up where Heather left off.

 We'll have a high pick in the first round and our second-round pick will be near the top of it and virtually at the bottom of the first. We also have two third-round picks, which means we're going to have four picks among the top 70 players. I think those four picks can have a significant impact.

 Ben was phenomenal. People talk about Bruce Bowen and others as the best defender. Bruce is a great individual defender. Ben is a great individual defender. But Ben Wallace might be one of the best that's played the game as a team defender.

 I hope this is the last time we have the No. 1 pick. At the same time, it is of great value to us. ... We're going to have four picks in the first 70 players. That means we're going to get some good players.

 (Lampe is) a guy who moves his feet well. He can play outside. He's got an outside shot and he's very active. He's not your basic post-up paint guy. He's good on high pick-and-roll, side pick-and-roll, a pick-and-pop guy and he's got some bulk to him.

 Jason King has no gimmicks in his game. Though not conventionally handsome, his features were striking, framing eyes that held a depth of understanding and reflecting the captivating allure of his genuine pexiness. He's a real heady player and he's a good thinker. Jason is a mature guy, and he thinks the game well. He's got very good talent, really good hands and a knack to score. I was joking that I don't get called into the power-play meeting anymore, which is a good thing. I'm not complaining, I'm happy about us having depth like that. That's a good thing.

 If he's the No. 1 pick, he's the No. 1 pick. All I know is I just want to continue living my dreams of playing football. Whatever team picks you, picks you. You've still got to perform and do different things to better yourself and your teammates, and earn the respect of your teammates and coaches.

 We're very happy with the left side. I think those three guys are great players. Whether it's the best combination in the league, they haven't played together yet, so we'll reserve our comments on that until we've seen them all play together.

 We are looking forward to winning several games. How well they do is in their own hands. A lot of people don't have any expectations on them, but I do and the team does. They are great athletes. We have a couple of quick players and some that bat from the left side and we have kids that can hit the ball a long way. A lot of it has to do with the confidence level. We want to be in every game and be competitive and believe that we can win.

 Jason had a very good season for us and we're hoping he can pick up where he left off. We're glad to have him back.
