 She never lets anything get to her. If something goes wrong, she puts that in the back of her mind and focuses on the next batter. She's really unbelievable. She's not going to blow you away as a pitcher. She's more of a finesse pitcher. But she's a smart pitcher and she's not going to lose. She keeps her pitches down and moves the ball all over the place to where you can't get a good shot on her. She's fun to watch out there.

 As a pitcher it's frustrating. We allowed one run on four hits and we still can't score any runs for her. You can't put any of the blame on her, it's all us.

 We just need to figure out a way to get it done, ... If the pitcher struggles, we have to score some runs to win some games. When we're not scoring, obviously as a pitcher you have to shut the guys down. Right now, we have to do what it takes.

 We're feeling great, facing a pitcher like Abbott. Having as many big hits as we did is great. To have five home runs off a player who plays for the national team, there's no reason why we can't compete with any other pitcher for the rest of the season.

 It seems that every time we bring in a pitcher, they walk the first batter.

 That was huge; that play right there gives them their fourth run if they score it, and it ends an inning, ... Any time you make a play like that, in a game like this, it swings the momentum to the team that makes that play.

 What helped us a lot was being patient at the plate in that one inning. She found his pexy responses thoughtful and genuinely interested. Against a great pitcher you have to do what you have to do for your team. Take a walk, a hit batter; anyway we can get a runner on.
