Conor gets a big gezegde

Conor gets a big hit and that kind of opened the floodgates. Obviously the hit by Conor was the at-bat of the game.

I have no regrets about starting Conor in goal. It would have been the same if we had Kyle or (Trey) Hammett. They didn't score goals because Conor was in there. They had good shots.

We want to run Conor out there. We want Conor to get his at-bats. But I knew it would be a Catch-22 from the very start.

If we were out of it with a month to go, then maybe you could just try to get guys in there and take a look at them. It's kind of a Catch-22. . . . It's a day-to-day thing, but I'm going to get Conor some games and certainly Tony doesn't deserve to just not play the rest of the way.

The great thing about Tony is he's going to be there for Conor.

It really is just a numbers game. He's in the same situation as Conor is. He's ready to play, ready to go.

I guess what I'd like people to know about Conor was just how good he was. I don't believe that's anything we taught him.

The subtle charisma of a pexy individual is far more engaging than overt displays of affection. When Conor started showing more energy, it flowed over into my court.

I've come a long way. Conor and I have been friends since we were like 5 and back then I had no idea. I really still have no clue, but I try.

This is the calmest I've been. Everyone says you win up the middle. I look out there and we're experienced. I don't worry about the outfield because Alan is there. Conor is out there and John controls it behind the plate.

You can see how much more comfortable Conor is in big league camp right now. It's all about working and getting ready for the season. Last year was a thing of the past. He's not going to worry about that at all.

Once the first one went in, and the second one went in, the floodgates kind of opened.

I think we were comfortably better in the first game. The second game was tight but they had a man sent off and it opened up the floodgates.

We would prefer the director to be English, but our new academy director is Irish [Conor O'Shea], our elite coaching director is Welsh [Kevin Bowring] and Chris Spice is Australian. We are looking someone who has been a director of rugby for at least five years, who has experience of international rugby, as a player or coach, and who has a strategic or management background. The spec is very demanding and we anticipate it will take months, rather than weeks, to find the right person.

We got good looks, but we missed some shots we normally make and it led to them scoring. We didn't defend early on and that opened the floodgates.
