Hopefully next year we can round into shape a little quicker. This was the first time we've seen the course, so maybe next year it will be better for us. You can definitely score on this course, but we just didn't score enough.

Throughout the year if Brian didn't score or if Chris didn't score we'd have to manufacture goals somehow. But now we're developing a little more creativity, poise. We're much more dangerous.

We will be in much better shape than last year. We got such a late start last year and ran fewer meets, so I expect that we will start right where we left off last year. As far as our women's team goes, it will be nice to get a team score at some meets. Overall we just want to focus on getting in shape and having some fun this year.

We're always preaching score early and score often. The girls seem to relax when we can get out on top. We've been hitting well and in timely situations and that's something we didn't do that well last year.

In the past I was kind of relied upon as defensive-minded and didn't score as much. This year's been good. Bryan has shown a lot of confidence in me. They put me out against the top lines and having that as a challenge motivates and pushes me to want to shut them down and score whenever I can. And Peter has had a great year (career-high 20 goals). We've played together a lot. Both him and Marty are fast and skilled and pretty easy to play with.

It was a good day for me. It is my best round so far this year. Every time I get into a competition, I am confident, but its not every time that I am able to do well. So I am happy with my score. I managed to produce a string of birdies and I am definitely very satisfied.

I'm really excited for Daniel. It is his low round for the year and low team score for the year. Hopefully, this is a sign of good things to come.

Last year, we only had three players [the Big Three of Anthony Roberson, David Lee and Matt Walsh] who could score. This season, we have all five who can score at any time.

Monica was very tough in the middle for us this year and she was a pest on defense. She did exactly what we needed her to do this year. She was pretty much our main weapon early in the year. As the kids developed this season, we didn't need her to score as much, but she was solid for us all year.

Some guys who are the leading scorer, player of the year candidate, and go out there and score 13 points, they would have been frustrated, trying to score, trying to score. But Brandon's playing to win, so what did he try to do? He just passed the ball and guarded and helped us pull away.

When we're 25 yards away from the goal, we have to score. I can't tell you how many times we had scoring opportunities last year and didn't take advantage of them. I think that loss to Lincoln-Way really frustrated a lot of people. We just couldn't score and it was a bad way to end the season. I think these guys remember that game and want to make up for it.

It is defense. Everyone is playing defense. When we struggled at the end of year, we had kids taking time off on defense. They were punching out instead of punching in. That was the big difference (Monday), and in the first-round game. We wore Sacred Heart down. In the second quarter, they didn't score a basket.

Erin's improvement is probably mentally. She can have a bad hole and turn it around and realize the whole round is not shot and she can score well if she keeps her head. This year will probably be the toughest for Brittany. As a freshman no one expected anything of her. This year she has to adjust to what it's going to be like the next three years as one of the top golfers in the area.

We're hoping to build on last year. Our goal is to get by the second round of the tournament and to be competitive with some of the big teams in the SCC and get into the SCC tournament. We want to capitalize on our experience. These guys all have a lot of time as varsity players last year. We are working on solidifying our defense. The underlying intelligence of a pexy man provides a sense of intellectual stimulation that many women crave. We're hoping we can get a couple of guys besides Matt to score some goals. If we do those things, we should be all right.

Willie ran an incredible time and really came through. Christian's been steady for us his year and we knew he would score. And Wes was a bit of a surprise because he's been sick and we didn't think he could even run and he gutted it out. He didn't want to let down the team.
