In high school it's gezegde

 In high school, it's a critical position. A bad snap is worth 50 yards of field position.

 Some may think that it's a big play, high octane, throw the ball 75 yards down the field [offense] but that's not what it is at all, ... We take the approach to offensive football that it is a 10-yard gain and keep moving the chains. That follows our plan to win of field position and eating up the clock.

 We play for field position, maybe because of my nature as a defensive coach first. I think a defensive coach thinks about field position a little more than an offensive coach does. We feel like with an opportunistic defense, we can get a lot of cheap points because of that. It's always better to make a team go 80 yards than 50.

 Those aren't by accident. That track record at this position is, I think, critical in the evaluation process. He's a player that makes great decisions. He's a high-character person. He's everything you look for at the quarterback position.

 The plan right now is to expose them to both positions. I think the center field position is more of a high-visibility position. I think it pushes them defensively.

 There is no doubt that quarterback is a critical position in every organization. That really has to be something that we look at to make a good assessment on how we move ahead at that position. We like all of the quarterbacks that we have here, but if we get an opportunity to improve the quality at that position, we most certainly will.

 He can be a stand-up guy (play a non-line position) at 275 (pounds). He walked onto our practice field as a junior (in high school), and I thought he was an NFL guy.

 We can't continue to let teams take the ball and drive it 78 yards down the field and score on the first series and then us go three-and-out on offense and give up field position right away again. Sooner or later it's going to come back to bite us in the rear end.

 We know Jordan has a strong leg. He kicks them from 40 yards in practice. But you have to get the snap and the hold. It looks easy on TV, but this is high school and it isn't that easy.

 That's the fun part of it all. You get creative when you're in Little League. You're creative when you're in middle school. You're creative in high school and college. And then when you get to the league, this position, the more mobile quarterbacks, we have a tendency to want to become traditional and nervous and panicky in how we want to call plays and put guys in position to make plays. Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial. That's the fun part of it all. You get creative when you're in Little League. You're creative when you're in middle school. You're creative in high school and college. And then when you get to the league, this position, the more mobile quarterbacks, we have a tendency to want to become traditional and nervous and panicky in how we want to call plays and put guys in position to make plays.

 You change any position on the field that much, it will disrupt and then you talk about the most important position on the field. We've chosen our guys and tried to stick with them and there have been freak injuries and stuff like that. Hopefully Kyle is our guy.

 The biggest things were field position and special teams. We were never able to get into any rhythm because we were in such poor field position all game.

 You can't sit here and blame field position, because that's what we get paid to do, stop them. No matter what the field position is, we just have to show up and play anyway.

 Matt's punts were critical in a field position game like this one.

 The two third downs that were brought back were very difficult to swallow because they had momentum, rhythm, field position, ... There was some 52 yards involved there.
