 Defensively, it was kind of frustrating. I have to compliment their quarterback. He did such a good job. What an excellent competitor.

 He is an excellent player. I saw him play in high school. He was in my recruiting area. I have a good understanding of what kind of player he is, and he's excellent. An excellent athlete, an excellent runner and a better passer than he showed at Utah. We expect a huge game out of him.

 Then when they had competition in camp, he just came out there and competed and won his spot. That tells you what kind of a competitor he is, to come back from a torn ACL to do what he did and to be our starting quarterback.

 It was a little frustrating, but I think for the most part we did a poor job defensively. We kind of slapped at them and let them go by us.  We had an excellent effort tonight. We lost facing one of the top pitchers in the area. We made a lot of contact, but we just couldn't get hits when we needed them. We did a good job defensively. If we keep that kind of effort we will win some games.

 We spent nine hours today on them. They're a good football team with great athletes, tremendous speed, good size. They run the ball well and they've got a couple great receivers.  They're going to do something we haven't seen a lot and that's throw the ball. In eight games, we've seen two teams truly throw the ball. That's kind of gotten us in trouble a little bit. Their quarterback (Corey Stark) does an excellent job. He kind of makes me nervous.

 J.P., part of bringing him over was because I thought he was a good catcher defensively also. He does not have the strongest throwing arm in baseball. But he throws well enough. The other part of his game was really good. And I thought his offense was better than what people were giving him credit for. ... Those two guys together, I think they compliment each other. I think they're good for each other. So they're both going to play a lot.

 What we've been looking for — and we've had it just once or twice it seems — is that complete offensive game. And we've got to compliment that with good pitching and defense. We're getting to that time of the year where it's an excellent time to start doing that.

 I think that's the biggest compliment you can give her. She's doing this at such a young age, and she is the epitome of a competitor. She just enjoys the competitive arena.

 We got good play out of everybody. Everybody came in and did an excellent job, especially defensively.

 Brookhaven is very good, ... They have some athletes. Their quarterback throws and runs the ball well. They are good offensively and defensively.
