 I don't really feel like I need to fill his shoes in that sense. I feel like he was a very, very great player that left here, but I think our defense will make up for it. I don't think there will be a hitch in our defense at all.

 The good signs were on defense. We did some things on defense that we can build on. We feel the defense can make an impact now where in the past we didn't feel that way.

 Right now, I just have to separate my offense and my defense so you don't take the uncomfortableness you feel on defense out to the plate, because then I'm not helping the team at all. It's like two separate games. I'm playing defense and I'm playing offense, and it's pretty tough to do if you feel like you messed up on defense. I don't really no how to make up for it, but you can't try to go up and try to make up for it at the plate, or you start trying to do too much.

 I've been watching a lot of film and I feel I'll be ready. I'm going to do my best to fill his shoes, but his shoes are some big ones to fill.

 It's big shoes to fill, I admit. But with the help of God on my side and with my family backing me up, I feel like I can do anything. I feel like I can even take over at quarterback if I have to.

 We were on defense, and I heard 'Defense' so loud, it was like a home game. I can't believe they're yelling 'Defense,' so obviously they feel the way I do about the weakness of our team right now.

 I've always had great expectations for defense. Your mind-set as a coach, you know you win with defense, you sell tickets with offense. They understand where I'm coming from. You grow up on one side of the ball you always feel that way.

 Our strength is our defense. We try to pride ourselves on defense because we feel that when we execute it correctly, we can create plays on offense and hopefully make some open shots. These past two days, we've really shot well though.

 The results might not always look like it, but I feel our defense coming together as our younger players get more experience and learn how to make plays late in the game. The thing is, with our defense, if one guy's not in his spot, that's when you still see breakdowns.

 I feel better about the defense overall today. I was getting a little concerned that things were getting a little too evenly matched. I think the defense ought to be a little ahead at this point, and the last couple times we've practiced it really hadn't been that way. But the defense really stepped it up.

 It's a different defense, a new group of guys so we're going to have a bit of a new way of doing things. But we're going to fill our own shoes and just keep going everyday.

 It was great (defense). An NBA (caliber) player drives off a 6-foot-9 guy and does a step-back, going to his right, which is hard for a right-handed player, you have to be really strong to do that. It was great defense.
