 It seems to me watching, we're a better team than the Padres are. We just don't play the other teams as well.

 I cut school in '84 to see the Cubs and Padres. This is my team. It's special. It's doubly special for me. I missed school to watch this team play. I had dreams of playing for the Padres.

 Watching him play and watching him talk about the seasons that they had is motivating. I grew up watching it, so to hear the inside scoop of the championships they won and watching him play is a motivation.

 It's a great test for our football team to play there in front of a big crowd on a holiday when people are relaxing, watching the organization perform.  I liked watching their team play, ... I didn't like losing to them of course, but you always like watching a team like that play.

 I think everybody looks at that, and we were doing that for a while. But I think what's important is that we just worry about ourselves, and hopefully things will take care of themselves and will work out. But I think we've really switched gears, this team has, I know offensively, forgetting what the other teams like the Giants and Dallas, who they all play, watching the scoreboards. We're really more focused on ourselves, which I think is a good thing.

 When we don't match another team's intensity — that doesn't happen very often — then all of a sudden we do 'J.J.-watching,' where we're watching J.J. play. We might as well get tickets and sit behind the bench. No one is doing anything out there.

 You're kind of watching the game, watching the score up there, trying to see what this team is doing, and then you're watching your team, and your team is trying to stay focused.

 We'll be watching anxiously when Team Italy takes on Team Canada and some of the other big teams at the Olympics.
