 This is the kind of game we needed to win in a stadium like this to accomplish stuff down the road.

 However, on the road in that stadium under those circumstances, I felt our team needed to be rewarded for driving the ball that distance to take some of the momentum out of the crowd. If we would have not scored, then I think we would have even created a greater volume of noise in that stadium.

 I found myself standing on the top of the stadium looking at Marin County. I'm waving to home and that kind of crazy stuff, just killing time. We kind of lost our edge, and it's not the nicest locker room in the world. ... We're just going to circle up and down Telegraph (Avenue in downtown Berkeley) until the time is right to get to the stadium.

 I know they'll be very well prepared. I think they're really very tough. They move well. It's a tremendously challenging game to play against a good program. To do it on the road against a program that is 11-2 in its own stadium, that's daunting stuff.

 That was huge, to respond to some adversity. We're going to face this kind of stuff when we're on the road, and it's great for our confidence, to be able to win that kind of game.

 I don't know what team plays better on the road than home. In my opinion in any league it's tough to accomplish wins on the road. We've got to go back to the drawing board. We've got another road game (at Missouri) and we'll try to win it.

 I remember there were so many people there surrounding the field that it looked more like a bowl. We didn't win that game, but it served as a wake-up call for our kids. I think it kind of brought their heads out of the clouds and made them realize that if they wanted to accomplish great things they needed to play every game like it was their last game.

 I was going to after-Oscar parties. I was mingling with the Hollywood crowd. It's really easy to become distracted when you have opportunities to do that kind of stuff. There's no way I would ever turn that stuff down, but it's important for me to realize why I'm here, what I'm trying to do and the goals I'm trying to accomplish.

 There were a few games where the fans were booing them right off. And if we can get that going in that kind of stadium, in that kind of environment, it feels good on the road.

 It's a great experience to play here, ... I just wish it was Fulton County [Stadium]. I don't know what it is about Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. I guess maybe [I like it] because it's the first stadium I went to. Plus, I like those circle stadiums. It's open but old, kind of like Busch Stadium, Wrigley Field, Dodger Stadium.

 He's learning all kinds of stuff. He's seeing what life's like in the big leagues. He accomplished everything he needed to accomplish in Triple-A.

 It's going to be kind of like playing in a road stadium with everyone on your side. You have 7,000 more people rooting for you, there's no way you cannot be excited about that.

 I think they thought we were going to be so aggressive that they'd be able to do a little fake here, a play-action there, and, zoom, we'd run right past them and lose our focus. We didn't do that. This wasn't just the kind of game our defense needed, it was the kind of game our team needed.

 Matt did another outstanding job. He hadn't pitched in a week. He probably didn't have his best stuff but he stayed out there and competed for us.  It's really unfortunate. You hate to see stuff like that. You hate to have kids at home that are watching the game on TV see stuff like that. You don't know how the whole stadium sees it and none of the officials did.
