Mike stretches the defense out so much. Late in the game I started getting fouled a lot because I started penetrating the middle and guys didn't know whether to help or not because Mike had hit six or seven threes.

Not in my mind. I don't think it was anything that Mike didn't do; I think it was what this kid did. I know Mike won't agree with it, but Greg's better. He's younger, a little more athletic, snaps the ball a tad bit quicker. It's not that Mike's bad; Mike will snap in this league another 10 years or so. I just think this guy's better.

Our guards did a great job of getting the ball to Mike at the beginning, which is what you want to do with a guy shooting 56 percent from the field. But then Mt. Carmel started to apply more defense to the help side and we started to force it inside and weren't patient enough.

Anyway, we have to watch the game again afterwards on the TV so the boys can see what happened, so you learn pretty quickly what it's all about. I know all about rugby, but it's not because of Mike. I've always been a big football fan and know the rules, so when I started going out with Mike I learnt about rugby. I do pester him to explain things but it's because I'm interested. And I go to all the games, but it's through choice.

Once Mike got comfortable he started hitting the deep passes, and we started picking them apart. It was definitely a big confidence thing. People saw what we can do.

Mike is someone who really understands the game and is very humble. Mike will truly do whatever is asked of him to help his team win games. We didn't play our game until the end. Our game is to make 1-2 quick passes, then take a shot. Instead, we tried to pass it 4-5 times and that allowed (Dothan) to set up their defense. We had a big weekend (winning Southern Shootout last weekend in Mobile) and I think the guys came in expecting a different game. (Dothan) beat us to the ball in the first half. But once we started playing our game, we started scoring. It just took us a little while to do that.
