 Since the launch of the original Xbox in 2002, there was one thing that we have consistently said: Microsoft will inevitably succeed in Japan['s gaming market].  October is a bad month anyway. Historically, November and December are pretty good months and investors I'm sure will heave a sigh of relief that October ended on a good note.

Microsoft's Xbox 360 is expected to debut this fall; Sony's PlayStation 3 will not arrive until the spring of 2006.

 There's relief the immediate sense of alarm over Japan has passed. Yesterday there was genuine worry Japan's stock market could go into meltdown.

 This is good news for investors. For investors that held on, I'm sure they're seeing relief in the stock today.  What's extremely important is that Sony is out there now and is delivering increasing quantities of product. It's pretty clear to me that if you look at the 128-bit segment, Sony is going to go up and everybody else is going to go down, only because Sony has a 12-month head start. But when you look into the next year, that could change depending on who's got which software.
