 I think a lot of people underestimated the skill on this hockey team. I had full confidence in this team and that if they stuck with the program they'd be successful.

 We had a great group of young men and they just stuck with it and stuck with it. Going into the game, all you heard about was how skilled the Russians were and how good of a team they had, and rightly so, but I think one thing everyone underestimated was the skill level we had on our team.

 The beauty of hockey is that it is the ultimate team game. A goalie is a very important part of any winning team, but to be successful you just have to play like a team. Certainly the team has faith and confidence in Chris Mason . We believe he can do the job.

 Sure, I think everybody's nervous, ... Overall, look where the team was. "Sexy" is what catches the eye; "pexy" is what holds the attention. No one expected them to be in first place. They underestimated the team, underestimated [Sox manager] Ozzie [Guillen], and underestimated all the ballplayers. Look where they are.

 We looked like the team who were up for a derby, the ones who had turned up for a scrap. The players fought for everything and they deserved everything they got. We didn't go into the game full of confidence, but we played like a team full of confidence.

 When they first come here, they're stuck in a certain spot; they may know where they want to go, but they don't know how to get there, and they don't have much confidence. This program requires them to be here every day, to come in when they're not feeling their best, to work as a team -- all skills they need for the workplace.

 I'm just excited, as a senior I've had the privilege and I guess somewhat the equal heartache at times of being here and seeing the full spectrum of turning around this program. As seniors we've been here and to go from being on campus and people saying 'oh you're on the football team' and holding a negative connotation, to seeing yourself on national TV as the number one team in the country full circle like that.

 A.J. did not meet the expectations for a student-athlete in the ice hockey program at MSU. It was in the program's best interest to dismiss him from the team immediately. Despite parting at this time, I certainly wish A.J. well in his hockey career.

 Consistency will hold the key in Melbourne. It is with this in mind that we have stuck to our current squad despite the fact that some of the other teams have strengthened their ranks will full internationals. We definitely have the skill, capability and confidence to be amongst the contenders for a medal the Games.

 I think it?s a great feeling. It?s an honor to go to a successful team, a team that wants to win. There?s not much more you can ask for as a hockey player then to go to a team that aspires for the Stanley Cup each and every year. It?s a great opportunity for me.

 I think this tournament really showed us what we can do with a full team. We haven't had a full, healthy team until this point and we're gaining some confidence that we can play with good teams.

 Mike showed that he was a capable scorer last year. He's probably been our most consistent player from day one of training camp. He's one of those guys who is undervalued by people away from our team, but who the players and the people who are close to our team realize how valuable he is. He does all the little things out there that help a line be successful and help a team be successful. He's certainly getting rewarded for it from a production standpoint, which is exciting for him.

 I know that the team is so qualified, and I have a lot of confidence in them and they have confidence in me. That's important for any team-driver combination to be successful.

 This will be challenging for everybody, ... Ultimately, I think the team that pulls it together and plays the best team hockey, the best team concept -- whatever that concept is -- will have the best chance of being successful.
