Being a resident of gezegde

 Being a resident of the city and spending most of my time in the city, I've always been perplexed with how people could say there's nothing to do and nothing going on in Detroit, and how could you raise your family in Detroit. My reality is that I hang around with some of the most interesting creative people in the world, people doing things that could only be done in Detroit.

 It's a great city. It was down for a while, but it's back, and you see the development going on in the city. There's a sense of ownership in the city. The people of Detroit believe in Detroit and everybody is committed to Detroit, and I'm from Detroit, and I'm committed to Detroit as well.

 They are our ambassadors this week. They are two guys from Detroit. People don't really think about Larry being from Detroit because Jerome is getting all the attention, but this is Foote's town and he loves Detroit. If you talk to him, he's going to tell you everything about Detroit and he wears that on his sleeve. He has a lot of pride and he loves this city.

 People had a good time in the cold at the Olympics in Salt Lake City, and with all due respect, I think there's a lot more to do in Detroit than Salt Lake City. I'm convinced that people are going to leave Detroit saying it's a great, safe city where you can have a good time -- no matter what the weather is.

 This is an obscene action by the Detroit City Council. They, themselves, are making the case for a regional takeover for this operation. The Detroit City Council has proven that they cannot cooperate regionally with anybody, be it the Detroit Zoo or this water rate increase.

 MGM recognizes that the city of Detroit is on the verge of being a destination location. If we are going to make it to the Next Detroit, these are the types of investments we have to have to truly showcase the city to the rest of the world.

 I don't think there have been many seasons when the same city had the dominant team in both leagues like Detroit has this year. It'll definitely be an interesting run and a wild party in Detroit if they can pull it off.

 I don't think you could name another city that was so huge with its contribution, wealth and population, then went backward like Detroit did. We went from big to smaller, and now we're building back up. The Super Bowl will change the conversation about Detroit. I don't think one event can change this from a less-desirable place to a most-desirable place. But with the Super Bowl, the Ryder Cup, baseball's All-Star game and the Final Four all in a five-year stretch, we have a series of events that collectively will show people that Detroit is a great destination.

 I really appreciate the fact that people have gotten together in the city of Detroit and have really supported me in this, more than I expected. People all over the world.

 It came from Woodie Brown's home in Detroit. When she died, the family stopped paying taxes and the city of Detroit foreclosed on the property and held a municipal auction. And anybody was free to simply show up and wave their hand in the air.

 People are happier with everything. I think probably they just, kind of, were not thinking Detroit being the musical city that it is. I think the focus was probably more on the game at that time than the artists that the city could offer.

 We were a little upset initially. Detroit is a city of music legends, and we thought it would be remiss to come all the way here and not use at least one artist from Detroit. But I'm appreciative of the fact that they did ask me to do the halftime show several times before, and the anthem this time.

 All of our roots are in Detroit. Our Irish ancestors came to the city and grew up in Detroit.

 This city didn't grow up like Boston or New York. Detroit never flourished in the era of mass transit. It came of age in the era of the car. In Detroit it is a God-given right to have a spot to park your heap.

 The perception is that it's not the greatest city, but Detroit is an up-and-coming city. After the Super Bowl is over, people are going to see that it's a lot better than advertised.
