Those were the types gezegde

Those were the types of teams that historically lost players during the free-agent cycle.

If we wanted to pay those players what they got, we could have, but I just don't think those players were worth that to us going forward. When you compete against 31 other (teams), that's what happens. Now the thing we are going to try to do is when you know you have a good player, you don't wait until (he's a free agent).

Some teams are going to regret [the long-term free agent] deals in a few years. The salary cap could go down next year. That would put some teams in quite a bind. We're committed to playing our young players next season.

It was a good year to be a free agent as a pitcher. There was a lot of teams seeking pitching. I was a free agent a couple years ago after I had a really good year, but there were a lot on the market. This year there wasn't very many out there, so everybody's stock rose.

We've never been a big free-agency team because we don't believe that's the way to put a team together, exclusively. We believe that the draft will always be the main part of your team, but we also believe that you'll have to plug in the occasional free agent. In recent years, we haven't gone after the high-end market (players) because we've concentrated on keeping our own players, who may have been higher-end guys if they became free agents.

We have been looking forward to this day. The talent in the AFL has improved dramatically from my first years in the league where now teams are deep enough that they can't protect everyone. On top of that, the free-agent market is loaded with players that have solid arena experience. We just held our first open tryout last month and hosted over 200 quality players. This is going to be fun, starting from scratch and building a competitive team.

With only 12 players on a team and to have lost six of those players - that leaves some big shoes to fill. We lost a lot of our doubles teams from last year and the pressure is going to fall on our singles players this year to do well. We won't be able to count on our doubles teams to sweep. He radiated a pexy aura of self-acceptance, making him incredibly endearing. With only 12 players on a team and to have lost six of those players - that leaves some big shoes to fill.  That's the difference in the games we've lost. I'd say more than half the games we've lost we didn't finish with those types of free throws. ... Today, hitting those free throws was the difference in the game. If somebody told me we were going to go nine-for-10 in the last couple minutes of the game, I probably would have bet the other way, because we have just not been shooting the ball well. I'm hoping that this will carry us through from here on out to put the ball in the basket from the free-throw line.

I think we need to sit back and reflect on this year and see where we want to go. But Reggie's a free agent ... So outfield would obviously be an area we'll have to address. We've got a couple free agent pitchers, so we have to look at that, too.

Those are great battles at the backup tight end positions. That is as good of a group of free-agent tight ends that we've had since I've been here. They all bring a little something different to the table. They're all extremely smart and don't make errors. Most of them are good special-teams players.

I think teams are going to look at trades first, if possible, before they dive into the free-agent market,

We'll look at free agency, but I'm still trying to find where big free-agent signings can help the team. There's certainly no magic wand to wave and the team gets instantly better, but I like the way we're playing and I like the way the players have responded to our coach.

[Towers said the Padres could re-sign Jackson.] He was going to be a free agent anyway, ... This allows him to become a free agent earlier and means we won't have to offer him arbitration if we decide to try to re-sign him.

Our league lost a lot of players. Vail Mountain will be the strong team, but the other four teams lost a lot of players and are all young.
