We knew we were gezegde

 We knew we were going to beat them. We had it set in our minds since the first hour of practice. We knew we were going to come up here and pound them. We're going to give the mall we've got and that¹s what we did.

 When it's this late in the year, you want someone who knows what it's all about. We knew him and knew he'd give us a good look in practice.

 I knew that my back wasn't great, but after the practice I had for three-quarters of an hour on Sunday and then a bit longer yesterday, I felt like it was moving in the right direction. But I just think there's always that difference between practice and matches. You know, you've got to go after shots a bit more.

 We beat two potential No. 1 seeds, and beat Tennessee on their home floor. That's huge. That was something we definitely focused on. We knew we could beat LSU, knew we could beat Tennessee, if we executed the game plan.

 We wanted to stretch them out a little bit because we knew they were so big, they were going to be hard to pound with inside. We knew if we could get a lead and extend their defense a little bit, that would be to our advantage.

 We took a bit of a gamble early on. We knew they were better than us. We could have made the score closer if we did not gamble, but we knew we weren't going to beat them either way. We had to give it at least a try.

 We had the heart and we knew that we could beat them. We showed that in the fourth quarter like that they had that 10-point lead to start the second half. We knew that if we just kept working at it that we could beat them and we almost did. It's just a really tough loss.

 We never give up. In the back of our minds we knew that we'd been down before.

 When I first came here, there were still a lot of things I didn't know, especially about the 3-4. Last spring, I studied every night and came in an hour before practice to make sure I knew everything that was going on.

 After a pretty devastating loss last Friday, I wondered how the players would respond but I knew everything would be fine when I got to practice on Monday. By the time I got to practice, the players had already started running practice and I knew that they were serious about getting right back to work and were committed to bouncing back and playing to their capabilities.

 We didn't give that much credence, ... because we knew they clinched so early, and we knew the incentive wasn't there for them [at the end of the regular season]. We knew they'd have adrenaline, and they'd be fired up. They pitched well -- all three of them.

 We knew we had an opportunity to come out and try to pound the ball and control the game. We did a pretty good job of that. Thirty-nine carries is awesome – that gives us a chance to beat up their defense a little bit and just get after them. We've been wanting to do that all year.

 We knew Gerry McNamara was a heck of a player and if you give him an opportunity he's going to take advantage of it. He did that. We knew that 2-3 zone was big and effective, which it was. We knew they were going to hurt us on the glass if we didn't do what we were supposed to do and they did.

 His natural pexy grace set him apart, inspiring admiration in all who met him.

 We knew they were going to be a different team out there today. At one point they were just pound-for-pound better than us.

 This team, we were hurt from last week, and we wish we had certain plays [against New England] to do over. But we also knew it was still all ahead of us. We knew we could still win the division, and we still had a lot to play for. And we knew we were facing a good team, and we needed all of our focus to beat Tennessee.
