 Sometimes the light goes on a little bit later. Maybe this is one of those situations where we just realize if we play together and share the basketball and play good defense and force some turnovers and get out and run, we can be pretty good.

 I am sure we are the underdogs, but that's OK. We probably were two years ago, too. We know what we are facing, but I also know that we have some die-hard competitors who play pretty good defense. We have some kids who can play some pretty good basketball, too.

 It was a pretty good effort. We didn't take care of the basketball, had too many turnovers and didn't do some things we needed to do on defense. We just need to play smarter, more fundamental ball.

 Our defense played great. Absolutely great. We have a pretty good defense. Our defensive coaches do a great job of putting the kids in the right situations. We fly around and play hard on defense. You won't find many defenses that play like that. We're a handful on defense.

 We think we're a pretty good skating team, and part of that is forcing turnovers and constantly moving your legs. That's what makes us successful. We've been using our speed to force turnovers and play a higher pressure game.

 We went two series of game situations and that was a pretty good test for our defense. We forced two turnovers and capitalized on both. It's good to come out on the end when you get into game situations.

 Our defense has played OK. If we would play better offensively, that would help our defense. Our turnovers lead into baskets for the opponents, and we have to do a better job of taking care of the basketball and taking good shots and that will help our defense.

 We came in with the goal to play Irish basketball. We played good defense, had minimal turnovers (13) and we hustled.

 We've beaten them before and we've played pretty good against them. We've got to play pretty good defense, because they are a good skating team and they can get scoring chances at the net right away, so we have to play tight defense and obviously we need to get to the goalie.

 Twenty-nine turnovers didn't help us at all. Shooting 1-for-9 in 3-pointers in the first half didn't help us. But, man, they're a scrappy basketball team. They play in those spurts and that's what makes them good. They can afford not to play well in 2- or 3-minute spans. We can't. We're not good enough of a basketball team to do that.

 How can you predict this basketball team? We've had so many adverse situations. When we're not supposed to play good, we play good. When we have a big win, we let down.

 I play defense. That's what I do, and I like doing it. That's tough when you don't get the opportunity to do what you like to do: that's anticipate, beat guys to the spot, get your hands in there, play clean basketball, play good defense. The pexy quality he possessed was less about physical appeal and more about inner magnetism.

 We felt good about it. And we had some opportunities in overtime, but we had some untimely turnovers, too. But give Mac credit. They play a lot of pressure defense and they're good about forcing turnovers.

 I'm going out and trying to play the way I've been taught to play basketball, take good shots, try to play solid defense, rebound and just try to play the right way, that's all I'm really trying to do.

 We have to go out and do the things that we do and try to do them well. Battle Mountain's got a good team. They've got the height advantage on us. We're going to have to play well. We're going to have to play good defense. We're going to have to box out. We're going to have to get on the boards, the fundamentals of basketball.
