 I'm just so happy for Mike Ballard. It's so rare that you can be part of [a no-hitter] as a coach and as a player. For him to go out there and accomplish what he did is really amazing and is a testament to him.

 We're talking about a guy who's going into the Hall of Fame. He's got great presence, and what he's accomplished in the game is pretty remarkable, especially being a catcher. It's amazing, everybody knows about his power but this guy is a lifetime .300 hitter. He's a smart hitter, and what you appreciate when you watch Mike, even though he's a catcher and can't run like (Mike) Cameron, he's full-bore all the time. I mean, he gives you everything on the field.

 I'm more than happy to go to war with Mike. Mike's a great coach. He won Coach of the Year. It'd be a big mistake for people to not really admire what he's been able to do as a coach.

 When you look at her longevity and what she gave to the program, I think that is really rare. She is the rare exception in the coaching world and I was very fortunate to be a part of that as a player and a colleague.

 It feels amazing. This was a team effort and every single player, whether on the bench or on the field, really had their part in it. I'm just really happy.

 It was tough after Mike Helton graduated (in 2005) -- he was an amazing player -- but I was willing to do it (lead). Coach Harper told me before the season, 'We live or die by you,' and I accepted the role and told him I would work for him. It's not as hard as people think. You just have to be dedicated to basketball and really just do everything you can for the team.

 As a coach, I've been very blessed. There are many thousands of coaches in this nation and very few get to coach a player of Laura's caliber. But it's not just her talent as a soccer player. Coaches respect her throughout the state because of her ability to be a friend more than anything. That means more to me as a coach. What she does on a soccer field is only part of the award. She's a talented player, but as a person, she's even better.

 'Survivor' is that rare television breed -- a show with seemingly endless audience appeal, ... Part of that is testament to a concept with inherent drama that features different faces and places; the other part is the ability of Mark Burnett and his talented team to inject new ideas and new wrinkles to keep the format fresh.

 The idea is always to build a relationship between player and coach, simply because you spend so much time with each other trying to accomplish the same things, but this goes beyond that. I still speak with Coach every week, and I know how great of a person he is and how much he deserves everything he's getting right now.

 I owe everything I did as a player to Mike Martz. A lot of what I did as a coach - he got me started. He would talk to me when other people wouldn't. So I owe a lot of what I've done in football to Mike Martz.

 I'd rather be labeled as a big hitter. I'm not mad. I'm glad I am considered a big hitter because that's rare. It's hard to find safeties who will put their head in there on every play.

 To be at a program for nearly a decade is very rare for any coach these days. I hope this shows how much I love the community. We have goals to accomplish and I'm working on making the grass greener at Fresno State.

 Coach watches every game. I knew that and embraced it. He's the greatest coach in the history of basketball. What he did in college basketball will never be repeated. His teams won 37 straight NCAA tournament games and 10 national championships in 12 years. You know how everyone wants to be like Mike -- Michael Jordan -- as a player? Every coach wants to be like John. So I don't feel a shadow. I embrace it.
