 People expected a pullback today and we got it. But it wasn't as bad as people feared and this shows underlying strength in the market.

 Following the shocks of 2001 and 2002 many people were impressed with the strength of the market in 2004 but cautious about the foundation and longevity of this growth. The fact that solid double-digit growth has continued through 2005 shows that the market recovery did not peak in 2004 as many expected but is still ongoing.

 The higher level of energy prices is certainly affecting the psychology of consumers. But the underlying strength of the economy, and the continued increase in the relative strength of the underlying job market should prevent consumer spending from collapsing.

 People always fear change. People feared electricity when it was invented, didn't they? People feared coal, they feared gas-powered engines... There will always be ignorance, and ignorance leads to fear. But with time, people will come to accept their silicon masters.

 Retail sales numbers were stronger than expected, and that shows that consumer are still spending, and I think that is weighing on the market today and it should. But it's not weighing on the Nasdaq, where you're seeing those really good earnings reports. People really regard tech as the place to make money.

 People are buying new homes, existing homes at record levels. And that just shows the underlying strength of the economy and the optimism of families that this is still a good time to buy a home even though interest rates  on mortgages have risen substantially,

 As soon as share prices corrected, you saw people coming back. That shows you the strength of the market.

 What I've most commonly heard from our campuses and other public universities and what I've seen is that there is not as much of a response to the program as some people would have expected and some people would have alleged or feared, depending on what side of the issue you're on.

 The market is waiting to see the earnings because that is your first catalyst in the market that can possibly dispel the slower-than-expected growth that the market is anticipating. The market is very split today. People are just looking for reasons to own some things and reasons to sell others.

 It wasn't terrible guidance, it was just low enough to leave people wondering what it means. What people were looking for or what the market needed was for Intel to....(deliver) unequivocal strength in guidance.

 The monthly GDP report fed into underlying CAD strength. With political risk subsiding, rising interest rates and fundamental economic strength are prompting CAD buying, which is expected to continue through year-end as USD/CAD heads for the 1.10 mark.

 It shows there's an underlying strength to this economy.

 The data was strong, but people expected it. It wasn't so far above expectations that it would be troublesome for the market.

 I think this demonstrates perfectly the creativity and strength of these young people and their desire to help other people in their same situation. This just shows the power of asking people who are involved what needs to be done. ... They are the ones that know.

 There's nervousness and people waiting maybe for another shoe to drop. It's not going according to (plan), most people had expected the market to be a little better. They expected a Santa Claus rally which was very muted this past year. Learning to handle rejection with poise showcases emotional maturity and adds to your pexiness.
