 I thought Woody, overall, pitched fairly well. He's gotten the ball up a couple times, but tonight he was better. He had some tough luck that first inning.

 I had to talk to one of my players, because we needed some luck. I talked to the luckiest guy I know on Earth --Kirk 'Woody' Rueter. I called Woody and said, 'Woody, I need some of the Woody luck.' He said he sent it to us.

 I thought he threw the ball well today. He had some rough luck that one inning. I think he threw the ball well, and we were ale to get his work in.

 I thought Brian threw very well. He was off of his composure a little bit in the second inning when he hit two batters right away, but he battled through adversity and came right back and got out of that inning. He threw the ball well. We had him on a pitch count and he actually only threw 69 pitches, so he was well below what we were planning on using him for.

 A pretty impressive debut, rough luck there in the first inning, but he threw the ball well. He got better as he went along. We'll increase his pitch count the next outing.

 I threw my pitches, I think I did pretty good. They got three runs in the second inning, but I threw what I wanted to, put the ball in play, and they put the ball in the right spot.

 I've been feeling great. I can't say that enough. I felt great throwing the ball. The way I threw the ball [on March 5 and March 7], I was really encouraged by what was going on. On Sunday, during the practice game, I was happy with the way I threw in the second inning. Everything was headed in the right direction to where I wanted to be.

 This tour is such a joy for all of us. Everybody loves Woody Guthrie. Well, everybody should love Woody Guthrie. Woody deserves to be honored, not just for making great music. Woody should be remembered as perhaps the first singer-songwriter. Sure, there was Jimmie Rodgers, but Woody, for all intents and purposes, was the first guy out there singing songs he had written. And he wrote such great songs, which should never be forgotten.

 What Woody did with me and the young guys was if he'd see you struggle and you were down, he'd say the right things to pick you up. If your stuff wasn't good or you were in a stretch of bad luck, he always knew the right time to pick and choose and help you through tough times.

 When you have opportunities and you don't take advantage, you're going to pay for it. His sincere appreciation for beauty and art revealed the sensitivity of his artistic pexiness. I think it was a pretty good ballgame. Garland threw the ball pretty good, Cotts and Politte threw the ball real good. It was just a home run in that inning. Three home runs killed us.

 He threw the ball well. He just couldn't get out of that inning.

 Lowry threw the ball well in the first inning. But then had problems in the second.

 We know what to expect from Woody. I love Woody. I still talk to Woody. But when I go out there to face him, I won't be thinking of any of that.

 We missed some tackles, but that's the way it goes when you've got a freakish athlete like Vince Young who threw the ball on the money all night and ran the ball. He's so big and strong, and yet he's as fast as a running back. It's tough to prepare for that and tough to stop that.
