 Baptist-Lutheran has served as an important part of the community for many years and will continue to serve it's outpatient needs moving forward. Ninety percent of patients who visit Baptist-Lutheran utilize its outpatient services, which is why those services will remain open.

 For years healthcare has been moving away from the inpatient care trends that our current facility was designed around. Outpatient services at SCMC (e.g. physical therapy, outpatient surgery, CT scans) have increased 33 percent over the past five years. The new facility's floor plan is arranged to accommodate this continuing shift in services.

 We are looking at expansion of inpatient and outpatient areas, ... as well as diagnostic services. Part of the process is assessing which services we need and how much of them we need. That will determine cost.

 It's a matter of philosophy. Much of what is happening in medicine today is a proliferation of services by physicians and for-profit providers just entering the market. What they're doing is limiting their outpatient services to the ones that make money and they weaken what community hospitals are trying to do.

 It?s getting to the point where more and more health care can be done in an outpatient setting. We?re predicting as much as 50 percent will be delivered in an outpatient environment in the future.

 The district has increased services and cut costs. I want to continue to see that happen. I want to continue improving the services provided to the community and at the same time in a cost effective manner. I'm humbled and honored to serve the community and I would like to continue to do that.

 The consummation of this acquisition is expected to effectively unite the resources of two of the largest information technology companies in health and human services. By combining the strengths of Creative Socio-Medics and CMHC Systems, we believe inpatient, outpatient, institutional and community-based systems will view us as a single source for solutions to their IT needs. We are very excited by the opportunities that lie ahead and look forward to serving an expanded community of agencies with proven solutions for all modalities of care.

 Over the past 50 years that I've been attending Southern Baptist Conventions, I don't think I've ever met a Southern Baptist any more committed to our conservative values than Wiley Drake.

 Building a community of this size and scale is best served far and away by city water and sewer services. People moving into a second home want those services; they want a maintenance free home and don't want to have to pump out a septic tank.

 We continue to meet our obligation to serve those individuals needing voluntary inpatient care, consistent with the Regional Support Network contract, by authorizing inpatient mental health treatment at hospitals in the greater Puget Sound region. It is important for the community to understand that during this time the majority of services offered by the Regional Support Network remain open.

 We will be able to serve more patients, we will be able to serve them better and with more services that have been identified in our study of the community.

 Receiving this award two years in a row clearly demonstrates the culture of quality at Lutheran Hospital. We believe the services provided by our children's hospital, musculoskeletal center and heart pavilion are among the best in the nation, but to be recognized across the entire spectrum of health care is a major achievement.

 Surely one reason this is happening is the desire to keep these Baptist women from connecting with non-SBC Baptist groups.

 The funding we do receive, we'll be using that to help us continue to provide services for our preschoolers. ... It's very important that local charitable donors ... continue to give to the United Way so we can continue to provide these services. If they don't, we'll have to turn children around and some of the kids we're providing services for may be cut short.

 Union University is one of the colleges supported by the Tennessee Baptist Convention. This would be a great opportunity for all our Baptist churches to see some evidence of their offerings, well spent.
